Friendly plants–Plantas amigas-(Eng-Esp)

Just as humans are drawn to sharing with others who share our beliefs, plants seek to create their own environment that nourishes them.

The relationship between one plant and another may not seem obvious, but seeing them grouped makes me think that they have and hold their own mysteries.

These are my fern plants; I have several species, but here in this small group, three species are intertwined. On their own, they seem to be nothing special, with leaves here and branches there, but when I group them together, as is the case today, they seem to take on a different appearance.

It seems that together they create their own microclimate, their environment becoming very acceptable for all of them. They intertwine their branches, their greenery seems brighter, there is almost no dryness in their leaves, and the roots expand and try to reach the neighboring pot.

It seems that they want to walk through their roots. And they move their aerial roots to the places where their sisters are.

Here, grouped together, are the sword fern, Boston fern, and common fern. There is one whose name I don't remember, with branches like the fingers of a hand. They have become such good friends that I don't want to move them or sell them.
