STREET ART #263 – A day in the city of Kristiansand, Norway

(edited)

This summer I have noticed a couple of new murals. A few days ago I went to town to have a look at them. In this post, I have chosen to add beautiful sandsculptures as well, even they have nothing to do with street art, it is still art. The same goes for the woodcarvings. On my way back home from the city centre, I chose to walk along the harbour front. That's when I saw both the sand sculptures and the woodwork.

Both of these two beautiful murals are painted on each side of a municipal building in the city centre. They are brand new. Last week I saw the artist working on this mural above. Sedin Zunic is one of our most active, local artist. He has already done many large scale beautiful murals. His style is easily recognizable. Even from a distance, you will know that this is his work.

A small, bot quite cute painting on a powerbox in the city center. The artist, Panther Street Art has many small powerbox paintings throughout our city. Usually I notice only by accident.

When I passed the guest harbor I noticed this woodwork on the pier. Beautifull piece of work, once you get close enough to study it. I think it must be new this summer. At least I haven't seen it beforer. It hangs on the wall of a sauna (which is also quite new) set up at the far end of the guest harbor. It is public sauna. I saw a few people in the sea water, so they must have been in the sauna first. The artist is Andreas Lian.

Two beautiful sandsculptures. Every summer artists will make two new sculptures at the excact same spot as the previous year. Even this has nothing to do with street art, I still think working with sand is great artistic work.
