This week I continue with the second two Global Goals murals. I think these two are incredibly good paintings. Both are right next to each other. They are both painted on the end gables of buildings located in on apartment building. It is not possible to enter the premisses since it is private property. I therefore had to stand outside on the street to look at them.
Quote:
«Those who are behind the project has had a purpose. They invited artists to paint mural that illustrate each of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in order to make the goals accessible to everyone. The founders have a belief about art being able to inspire in a way that words can't. Because the SDGs affects the intire globe, the founders had invited artist from different countries».

«The flight of the swallow»
Artist: Jade Rivera, Peru
To me, this mural is a beautiful way of paying tribute to the potential of a child. If a child is enlightened, its mind will be filled with ideas. This painting shows us how important it is for children to have access to education. Education gives the opportunity to have a future with opportunities. The artist makes a significant contribution to children's education in Peru, where he works with social projects. Among other things, he has created a social project called "Despierta" where he paints murals in rural districts. In this way, he gives children the opportunity and access to art and culture, which can help promote creativity. He is active when it comes to improving educational opportunities.

Jade Rivera was born in 1983. He grew up in Lima, the capital of Peru. It was at school in the Chorrillos district that his interest and curiosity for art was awakened. When he was 17 years old, he attended the Pre-National School of Fine Arts. From then on, he was involved in art. He creates both small miniature works and large murals. He is interested in sincerity. Among other things, around the problems faced by the population of Peru. In Lima, he has his own museum. I think it would have been interesting to visit that if I ever come to Peru.
This painting is inspired by Global Goal nr. 9 «Industry, innovation and infrastructure»

«Deja vu»
Artist: Cristian Blanxer, Spain
Here the artist shows us a double exposure effect. We see the silhouette of a woman, with has a street scene from Barcelona . Blanxers took the photo in a street when the city was closed down during the COVID 19 pandemic. The woman looks quite relaxed. She raises her arms above her head, so that I think it looks like she is holding the street scene. The street scene shows us historical buildings in Barcelona. The perspective under the arch creates an effect that gives an optical illusion of a space that is a three-dimensional effect on a two-dimensional surface.

Notice the girl's smartwatch and the security cameras. This is where we should reflect on innovation and how most people today are monitored. We can ask ourselves the question of whether we are really free in our societies.
Christian Blanxer was born in 1985 in Barcelona. Today he runs a refuge for artists in a mountain village. He grew up in poor circumstances, but had parents who helped him complete an art education. There is intensity in the color scheme. Often his works reflect ordinary human actions to the more surreal. He often mixes people and places, which gives a unique style. He is also an artist who has had many of his works displayed in galleries in both the US and Europe.
