Mówi się, że wietnamskie skutery mogą przewieźć wszystko. Nie wiem czy wszystko, ale na pewno bardzo dużo. W internecie na pewno krąży wiele zdjęć na ten temat. Ja również zrobiłam wiele zdjęć, ale też wiele nie zrobiłam. Także to jest tylko mały wycinek tego jak to wyglądało. Wszystko było ciekawe. Nie tylko rodzaj towaru, ale też ilość osób na jednym skuterze. Do tego różne stroje i różne obuwie, chociaż mam wrażenie, że mimo wszystko dominowały klapki.

Skuter w Wietnamie to chyba podstawowy środek transportu. Ma też inny "kodeks drogowy". To, że ma czerwone światło, a pieszy zielone, to tak naprawdę nic nie znaczy. Skutery są wszędzie. Idąc chodnikiem musisz uważać także na skutery. Na te co zaparkowały na chodniku, więc nie możesz tak naprawdę iść po nim, tylko musisz zejść na ulicę i uważać na skutery co jadą prosto na Ciebie. Nawet jeśli uda Ci się znaleźć kawałek chodnika, to trzeba uważać na boczne wąskie uliczki, z których w każdej chwili ktoś może wyjechać. Mam wrażenie, że Wietnamczycy jakoś ten chaos ogarniają. Pieszy ma zaufanie, że żaden skuter go nie przejedzie. Jest nieustraszony. Nie może się cofnąć ani zawahać, bo wtedy kierowca skutera czuje się zagubiony. To wszystko ma płynąć w swoim rytmie. I płynie.

Pierwsze dni w Hanoi były trudne. W Bangkoku też było dużo skuterów, ale tam było więcej chodników mimo wszystko i skutery nie przewoziły tyle towarów, ale chyba częściej służyły jako taksówki.

When walking on the sidewalk, you also have to watch out for scooters. Those parked on the sidewalk, so you can't really walk on it, you have to go down to the street and watch out for scooters coming straight at you. Even if you manage to find a piece of sidewalk, you have to watch out for narrow side streets, from which someone can drive out at any moment. I have the impression that the Vietnamese somehow manage this chaos. Pedestrians trust that no scooter will run them over. They are fearless. They cannot back down or hesitate, because then the scooter driver feels lost. Everything has to flow at its own pace. And it does.

The first days in Hanoi were difficult. There were also a lot of scooters in Bangkok, but there were more sidewalks there, after all, and the scooters didn't carry as much cargo, but were probably used more often as taxis.
