Prices to Mexico and other central American countries rising big time this summer

If you are a sports fan you already know the main culprit behind this really large rise in airfare prices and if you are traveling there for any reason you are doing to notice in certain cities a lack of hotels or hotels that are seriously jacking their prices.

This is all for the World Cup which for the first time is being held in 3 different countries for reasons I do not understand because I am not a fan of the spot or really sports on TV in a general sense.

I was searching around for a friend wanting to travel here from the other side of the world for a meet up because he wanted to watch the games but realizes that it is very unlikely that he would be able to get a ticket to the games.

I've never understood the rather insane prices that people will pay for sports but then again, those people probably don't understand why it is that someone like me doesn't really have a home and lives out of some suitcases. Different strokes for different folks.

If you are thinking of traveling down this way though you can expect the prices to rise a lot because at the end of the day airlines are a business that makes as much money as they think they can. They are not a charity that does things out of the goodness of their hearts.

Me and my friend were hopeful that since he is flying from a major Asian city that it would be cheaper but it is not.

This is just off of a Google AI assisted search for approximate prices and I did clickon a few of them to ensure they were at least somewhat close and they are. I was also kind of happy to see that many of the flights were direct flights and this is magnificent news because most of the time the flights get routed though USA, and this is always a pain in the ass that is likely about to be a lot worse with all this talk I hear about TSA staff not getting their budgets and people are having to wait in really long lines because of some political malarky that I don't know anything about.

These are 1-way tickets prices from Korea to Mexico City direct. Maybe that isn't a lot of money to you but it is to me. I have flown this route before and it is normally about half this much or even less. There likely could be other factors involved such as the turmoil in the Middle East because of the whole Iran thing that I also know very little about but this could be playing a part in it also.

The blast increase in prices seems to end once you get to Mexcio and are flying either domestic trips or even to nearby countries. My friend is going to come and see me in Mexico but wants to watch the games in Colombia and a flight from here to there is just over $100, which is what it always costs. So that is good news that this sort of "rip off" pricing does seem to not be all around, just certain markets.

So keep this in mind if you are thinking of heading over this way. The event takes place from June 11th to July 19th and things are expensive about a month before that and I presume afterwards as well. I didn't check every single market, but I have a lot of experience with flights in and out of Mexico and this is by far the highest I have ever seen them be.
