Wynnum parkrun, Queensland, Australia.
I have run the Wynnum parkrun ten times. A while back I wanted to run ten of my locals parkruns ten times each. That would give me a repeat index of 10 in the five kilometre app, the P index challenge. My first time to Wynnum was for there third birthday back in 2015. I have lots of good memories of this parkrun because they had such a big group of strong runners, I got to know lots of them over the years. We would even met up and run on Sunday mornings as well. The foreshore in this area is a such a good place to run, bay views, wide paths and flat as a pancake. It can get pretty busy but that does not the fun if you can start up the front and get away fast. The spit double out and back course starts at theΒ Wynnum Wading Pool which has public toilets and coffee shops.
Ha, in the old days I used to start at the front with all the fast guys.Β nowadays I am a lot further back.Β
Wynnum was the fourth parkrun to start in Queensland in 2012, we now have 137 all over that state.
This is the start, finish area. I have just run 3.2 km on the southern part of the course with another 1.8 kilometre to go north to Break Water park at Wynnum creek and then back again.
The wading pool to the left and the pier to the right in the back ground.
Wow my new nike neon super shoes really stood out on a dull day. I still have them and only bring them out when I am feeling fit and on a fast course.
The wading pool drains daily at low tide but it looks like they were doing a bit of maintenance as well on this visit.
