Tura Beach Rockpool, New South Wales, Australia.

New South Wales seems to have a lot of really good natural ocean rock pools more than any place I have been to over the years. Most of the coastal towns in both north and south have them, even Sydney has a few. Some are modified and modernized for safety because of the amount of people that visit them. So they probably not classed as totally natural but still there a lot better than the chlorine filled lap pools that I did endless laps in when I was growing up or training for my Iron man triathlon events. I do not know if I have a favorite but as they all seem to have something special about them. For me it would probably be about how hard they are to get too and how crowded they were with other people. My two preferences generally work against each other because if it is easy to get to and the weather is nice you can bet it will be pretty crowded. Tura Head Rock Pool was a totally natural formation which fills up at high tide. It is only a short one-kilometre walk from a road where you can leave the car.

There were lots of people fishing and catching fish seems if the weather is not ideal for surfing the local switch to fishing.

It was raining lightly when we were there, so we decided not to scramble down to, or swim in the rock pool, but it was still worth a visit.

Indeed, I remember reading your great ocean road post! I am bit bias, but I love the place too.

Β‘Saludos!
