Torquay, Victoria, Australia.
Welcome to Torquay the start of the great Ocean Road on the famous Surf Coast Shire of Victoria. When I was growing up in Melbourne, I always wanted to spend a lot more time in this part of the world but unfortunately life got in the way, and it never really happened. It is only an hour and half from Melbourne but in my defensive, we lived right on the opposite side, and it would have added another half hour each way. At least now I get to check a bit more out now.
We were staying near Coastside drive, which is a cool name and definitely gives you a holiday feel but as is part of the world seems to be rapidly expanding with new housing developments, we were still miles away from the beach. This whole area was just farmland the last time I drove through it.
This is more like what I was expecting. Sand and surf.
I am thinking the surf is not this flat all the time and there was a bit of rain coming, if felt like the quite before a storm. They also seem to get some different and more colorful seaweed down here from what we are used to back home.
A dead tree carved into an old shipwreck figurehead.
The main shopping area was a coffee stop for us.
With all this walking and exploring these nicely carved chairs might come in handy.
Is it that time already, got to go! It looked like a great sundial just a shame there was no sun to see if it worked.

What a nice beach. The ocean was so calm and inviting. Loved that sun dial too.

Wow that is lovely to see like no people around. Is it the off season or is this just too far away from most people?
Just another day in paradise!
