Pallara parkrun, Queensland, Australia.
About twenty kilometres south of Brisbane is the new housing estate of Pallara. Pallara is named after the Aboriginal word meaning flat land. The flat land was used for farming before the new housing and parkrun is actually run on part of the old, reclaimed dump. The start is at 7am in Broadbent Road Park. There are toilets in the Stockland playground adjacent
It is hard remembering all the different parkruns we have visited, a few photos definitely help. This double out and back course took us along a flat and fast foot path before heading back to the start line.
Then it is across the oval for the second out and back on some grass and gravel which is a bit slower but still no hills to speak of.
We were Luckly the rain held off for our run but it did rain a bit both before and after.
I finished the five kilometres in second place, in an official time of 21:31. It was there 65th event back in 2019, only 21 people ran and walked, they get a few more nowadays, maybe the wet weather scared a few of them off back then.
Caroline ran with a friends under 11 child and helped her get new personnel best. The grass looks so dry even with the rain.
My 38th different parkrun event done. I am surprised we have been back but I don't think I could run anywhere near 22 minutes like I did back then. The average finish time ay Pallara is 35:08
