Boxing day 2020 my 58th different parkrun event. So we did a Christmas day special event with friends near home then had the rest of the day with family before heading to south into New South Wales to see @consciouscat ’s family. Boxing day must have fallen on a Saturday that year, so we got two parkruns in two days. Covid restrictions must have eased, and we must have felt confided to cross the border, from memory we had to print a form and sign we were healthy. We got to meet a couple of other uber parkrun tourists there too, but we were still supposed to be practicing social distancing lol. Lismore is located inland in the Northeastern New South Wales about 200 kilometre south of Brisbane. Originally lands of the Widjabul/Wia-bal people of the Bundjalung nation but became farming and timber country when the European settlers arrived.

The course is at Riverside Park right on Wilsons River. It felt high and dry but this river and town has had some terrible floods over the years. They have been so bad they have talked about trying to move the entire town. Even with the flood risk the medium house price is still 560 K Aud.

27:22 my second parkrun in as many days with a bit of travel throw in as well. The 3-lap course had a few rolling hills, 14 metres of elevation and was a bit convoluted. It was nice to have somebody else to follow. 3 lappers on a narrow path are fun as long as there is only a small crowd. You get to see and pass everyone multiple times. Toilets and coffee are nearby but I can’t remember eating with anyone we may have needed to get back to our accommodation, shower, check out and get on the road for the long drive to Sydney.
