Jindabyne parkrun, New South Wales, Australia.

I have spent a lot of time in the little town of Jindabyne. It is sort of the main gateway to two of Australia’s biggest snow resorts. I worked at a hotel/motel halfway from here up to the biggest snow field in this country Perisher Blue. We used to live and work on site at our hotel motel and if we needed a break from the mountain life it was always good to escape down into Jindabyne, basically there are two main shopping areas and a nice path along the lake. The lake is man made and they flooded a few old small towns and farming land when they built the snowy mountains hydro scheme which consists of 7 power stations, 16 dams and 145 kilometres of tunnels which provide electricity and water to a lot of people. There was no parkrun in Jindabyne when I worked around here but there was on when we visited for some skiing with my son back in 2019.

We stayed in a Ski Lodge Sunday evening to Friday, but they wanted so much more money to stay one extra night and get the parkrun that we moved to the local caravan park and set up the swag.

A double out and back course starting in Banjo Paterson Park. It was so fast heading out of town with the wind and then it felt like hitting a brick wall from the turn around all the way back to the start line.

It was cold and very windy. It is hard to tell by the photos other than how well the tail walkers are rugged up.

The clothing they're wearing in these pictures definitely gives us a great idea of the weather. I loved the snowy landscapes in your photographs, and those shots of the lake too; it's a very special place, and I think you travel back there in your writing. It's been exciting reading your posts...

Meanwhile, that's DEFINITELY the most clothes I've EVER seen you wear during a parkrun. !LOL
