GreenWay parkrun, New South Wales, Australia.

I was on my own for this parkrun, it was a strange feeling as @consciouscat had already done this event years ago when she was living in Sydney. It was a good opportunity for me to catch up one she already had done on the 5km different event list app. It was a pretty big event with over 500 people which is not surprising for the inner west area of Sydney. Being a pretty flat course on mostly concrete path makes it fast and even more popular too. I pushed to the front at the start to try and stay ahead of the main pack as I had a feeling it might get pretty congested as the faster people starter to lap the slower runners on the second lap. It was a good idea as I had no issues, but it did get tight at times when there were 3 sets of traffic on the one path. The temperature was coolish after few hot days in Sydney but still pretty humid when I started running, by the end I was sweating as much as back home in sub-tropical Queensland.

The parkrun course did not quite go this far on the greenway bike path, but my warmup run did as it looked interesting the way they had done all the rocks on the food zone under the bridge.

A double out and back course alongside the Hawthorne Canel on the Greenway bike path. We started near Marion Road and ran to what google maps call Parramatta River, but the locals just referred to it as the Bay. I was hoping to run sub 25 minutes but just missed out.

I still made it back to the hotel in time for breakfast.

I used to be an avid runner before my health issues. Would have loved to make that run with you along that canal and on the parkway. It looked like a really nice view during the run. Keep it up.

The water courses are definitely the best the view sort of helps distract from any discomfort.

I agree. When I lived in Indianapolis, Indiana USA. There was a canal that I would run next to. It was serene and relaxing. They also had a river walk that I would run as well. It was nice as well.
