I normally just take a laptop bag and it serves as an extra place to store my jacket and small things. I kind of get it for local flights ,but definitely not international flights because you need the baggage. I am amazed that there are ticket options for those with no suit case or carry on baggage for international flights. Most of the flights we do now are upper economy so you are allowed extra bags depending on the airline which may also include 2 suitcases per person.

I think if you are going some distance this would be essential. It's also kind of a scam because this sort of branding of "upper economy" or "economy plus" was kind of created out of baggage restrictions. Gone are the days of them just being honest about how the plane is in fact capable of carrying significantly more than it does.
Luggage is imperative and I think the airlines are being taxed so much they have to do this to make their profits. I read somewhere the new SAF bio fuels which are greener are 3-5 x more expensive than normal aviation fuel.
