Day 2932 | Discovering More Markets

I started a challenge of taking 100 days off to mainly focus on my health and overall personal development and used this account as a personal blog to keep track of all my activity. I enjoyed it and continued afterward trying to build better habits and find a good balance between health, fitness, work, entertainment, and my personal life...

Here in Hua Hin and surroundings, there are a ton of daily or weekly markets and food courts. Each time I think that I've seen them all, some new one pops up on Youtube and I have the urge to just go visit them as they are always fun activities even though all of them are pretty similar in what they bring.

So the ones I wanted to do were the Dinosaur Market close to where my girlfriend stays along with the Nong Khong market which required a grab and the Lunar Market which I thought was a 20-minute walk.

I rode the Baht Bus close to the Dinosaur market and walked to it from their waiting for my girlfriend to also arrive. However, it turned out that there are 2 Dinosaur market not so far from eachother and off course we ended up in different ones. Eventually we managed to meet and the market was pretty nice and clean mostly food.

We ate some nice rice with glazed bacon there which was nice and headed to the next one ordering a grab.

The Nong Khong market however was a lot less clean being set on dirt ground and having multiple stands where there was just unrefridgiated meat with flies on it.

So we didn't stay long and started walking to the Lunar Market not really knowing what to expect there. The walk was also longer than I anticipated around 40+ Minutes at the side of a big road which also had some dogs barking at us on the way. So if I knew I would have taken a grab but we survived and made it there which delivered a really nice payoff as it was a super clean and nice food court with live music. There were just the right amount of people there not too much while it still felt very much alive.

We walked around and ended up settling for a grilled whole fish along with some chicken meat which was actually meat and not just fat or bones which often tends to be the case at these market especially when the price is low.

The time at Lunar market was really fun with great food and well worth the trip to make. We took a grab back and I entered a stop at migh girlfriends place. In the evening I once again went out to my favorite restaurant which turns into a bar in the evening where always the same people from the family who owns the place are playing Pool which I joined waiting 6 or so games before it was my turn.

While I lost my match, it was a fun and very close game both left on the Black ball. I also really like the atmosphere there and will look to come back a couple of times. This ended another good day in Hua Hin with a couple more left to go.

Next Day Goals: I will go for noodles lunch date to a restaurant that gets great reviews and has limited opening times while they have a very limited menu. Aside from that, my girlfriend will come over in the evening to spend the weekend.

Haha, that’s such a fun little mix‑up story! Only in Thailand do dinosaurs multiply into two markets! Glad you both eventually found the right one. That’s what I call a Jurassic miscommunication! At least you still got to enjoy the food together. 😍
