Hello, cactus and succulent lovers! I’m excited to be here again to share with you the amazing community of Succulent Growers, led by @nikv — a beautiful collection of plants featured by a great friend in the city of Modesto Reyes, Cuba.

In the content from my visit to the garden, I’ll show you many varieties of exotic plants, such as bromeliads, begonias, orchids, and flowers in general. I hope you all enjoy it, and have a great midweek!

¡Hola, amantes de los cactus y suculentas! Estoy emocionado de estar aquí nuevamente, para compartir con ustedes la increíble comunidad de Succulent Growers, dirigida por @nikv, una bella colección de plantas que presenta una gran amiga en la ciudad de Modesto Reyes, Cuba.

En el contenido por mi visita al jardín, les mostraré muchas variedades de plantas exóticas como bromelias, begonias, orquídeas y flores en general. Espero sea del agrado de todos y tengan una excelente mitad de Semana !

To start this walk, let me tell you that right now the sun is at 34 degrees, with unbearable heat on the island.

Several very tall Ceiba trees caught my attention. Apparently, they must be around 50 or 60 years old. The good thing is that they provide plenty of shade to rest and connect with nature. This little farming town is known for its excellent plant-loving people.

Para comenzar este paseo, les comento que ahora mismo el sol está a 34 grados, con un calor insoportable en la isla.

Llamaron mi atención varios árboles de Ceiba de gran estatura. Por lo visto, deben tener aproximadamente 50 o 60 años. Lo bueno es que aportan bastante sombra para descansar y conectar con la naturaleza. Este pueblito agricultor se caracteriza por excelentes personas amantes de las plantas.

The garden you'll see today is beautiful in its entirety. At first glance, its weeping willow tree stands out, delighting visitors with its simple red flowers.

Furthermore, at the entrance there are several palm trees and beaucarnea recurvata — known as elephant's foot — characterized by the thickness of its base. All of them add a special elegance to the home.

El jardín que conocerán hoy es una belleza en su totalidad. A primera vista, destaca su árbol sauce llorón, que alegra a los visitantes, con sus flores rojas sencillas.

Por otra parte, en la entrada cuenta con varias palmeras y beaucarnea recurvata-conocida como pata de elefante, caracterizada por el grosor de su base. Todas ellas aportan una elegancia especial al hogar.

The first look at her collection featured the Begonias, mainly the Dragon variety and the White one. These bloom mostly in spring and summer.

Their care is delicate. They thrive in environments with bright, indirect light and well-drained soil. Care includes maintaining constant humidity without overwatering and providing a humid atmosphere.

La primera vista de su colección fueron las Begonias principalmente la Especie Dragon y la Blanca, estas florecen mayormente en épocas de primavera y verano.

Sus cuidados son delicados, prosperan en ambientes con luz brillante e indirecta y suelos bien drenados. Incluyen mantener una humedad constante sin regar en exceso y proporcionar una atmósfera húmeda.

The space is not only a display of colors and shapes, but also a place to find calm. The air perfumed by the flowers, the sound of the wind through the palm trees create an atmosphere that invites contemplation and rest.

The Begonia 'Iron Cross' (the one in the photo below) is moderately toxic to cats and some pets, but the color of its leaves is very beautiful.

El espacio no solo es un despliegue de colores y formas, sino también un lugar de encuentro con la calma. El aire perfumado por las flores, el sonido del viento entre las palmas crean un ámbito que invita a la contemplación y al descanso.

La Begonia Cruz de Hierro, la foto a continuación es moderadamente tóxica para los gatos y algunas mascotas, pero es muy hermosa en el color de sus hojas.

Among my dad's and the nursery owner's favorites are the Bromeliads. They are shrubs that have adapted to almost any climate, even being able to grow on rocks and dry trunks.

They need abundant light, though never direct, as it could burn their leaves. The flowers of these genera grow inside their colorful bracts and feature spectacular pigments in their center.

Entre las favoritas de mi papá y la dueña del vivero están las Bromelias, son arbustos que han sabido adaptarse a casi cualquier clima, hasta capaces, incluso, de crecer sobre roca y troncos secos.

Necesitan luminosidad abundante aunque nunca directa, ya que podría quemar sus hojas. Las flores de estos géneros crecen dentro de sus brácteas de color y presenta espectaculares pigmentos en su centro.

It is said that bromeliad blooms symbolize inspiration and resilience in the face of adversity. If there is someone in your life you admire for their ability to weather the storms, this decorative plant will remind them how much you appreciate them.

Among the most abundant varieties in her collection are the so-called "woman's fingernail" (Billbergia) and Neoregelia, both with broad leaves featuring shades of intense pink in some areas.

Se dice que las floraciones de las bromelias simbolizan la inspiración y la resistencia ante la adversidad. Si en tu vida hay alguien a quien admiras por su inteligencia para capear los temporales, esta decorativa planta le recordará cuánto la aprecias.

Entre las variedades más abundantes de su colección se encuentran la llamada "uña de mujer" y la Neoregelia, ambas de hojas anchas con tonalidades de rosado intenso en algunas partes.

Also within the planting are the Anthuriums, which command great respect in a home because their flower holds several special meanings. For example, the red one represents hospitality, abundance, passion, and love, due to the heart-shaped leaves.

They are ideal to give on Mother's Day or Valentine's Day to those friends who are fans of the ornamental plant world.

También dentro del sembrado, se ubican los Anthurium que llevan mucho respeto en un hogar pues su flor contiene varios significados especiales, por ejemplo el rojo que representa hospitalidad, abundancia, pasión y amor, debido a las formas de las hojas que son de corazón.

Ideales para regalar el día de las madres o San Valentin, a esas amigas fanáticas del mundo ornamental.

Also for cactus lovers, there are Agaves — about 5 different varieties, mostly native to the Americas. They are very capable of withstanding poor or rocky soil and extremely high temperatures.

Moving on to the decoration among the plants, you can see small artisanal details like mushrooms, Wall-E, and ladybugs, making the place feel even more welcoming.

También para las amantes de cactaceas están los Agaves, hay cerca de 5 variedades diferentes, mayormente extraídos de America. Muy capaces de resistir suelos pobres o rocosos y a muy elevadas temperaturas.

Llegando a la decoración de sus plantas, se ven pequeños detalles artesanales mediante hongos, Wall-E y mariquitas luciendo más acogedor el lugar.

And of course, the echeverias or succulents couldn't be missed. Just by looking at the images, you can see the great care and creativity they displayed. A clear example that you can make use of a wall to create a decorative and eco-friendly green corner.

She had several species, including Haworthia, Graptopetalum, Crassula, Sedum, and other echeverias. It's also impressive to see the use of recycled pots made from plastic tubes, shampoo bottles, and other items, all handcrafted with a very unique design, adding an original touch.

A continuación no podían faltar las echeverias o suculentas, nada más ver las las imágenes se darán cuenta del buen cuidado y creatividad que presentaban las suculentas. Un ejemplo claro de que se puede aprovechar en una pared un rincón verde decorativo y ecológico.

Presentaba varias especies, entre ellas Haworthia, Graptopetalum, Crassula, Sedum entre otras echeverias. Impresiona también el uso de macetas recicladas de tubos de plástico, pomos de champú y otros, hechos a mano muy único diseño, añadiendo un toque original.

This final area of the greenhouse is for sales. Almost all the young plants on the following shelf are taken to the shop for public sale.

They are planted in bags for easier handling for both the seller and the buyer.

Esta zona final del invernadero es de venta, casi todas las posturas del siguiente estante son llevadas a la tienda para su comercialización al público.

Son sembradas en bolsas para una mejor manipulación del comercial y comprador.
