Sometimes, I would like to believe that all these things were just a fiction... That humans weren't/aren't able to do such things to other human beings... But, unfortunately, we don't have to look that far away into history that these things are repeating after so many years... I don't know what's wrong with us... Are we just too naive and stupid to realize that some crazy people in charge can make us believe that we are superior to others, over our neighbours, other nations, other races...
Thanks for sharing your experience... We can't forget these things... If we do, we will repeat the same mistakes over and over again...

I would love to believe the same, but reading history books is certainly unkind to that illusion. The only times I had to put the book down, it was out of frustration at reading about how little had really seemed to change, how we keep doing the same things, making the same excuses.
Indeed, I feel that in remembering is the only way we can hope to preclude this from happening again. Thank you!
