[ENG/ESP] A day's work amid the mountains, the sea, and the beautiful landscapes of Margarita
The hot, busy days continue on the island. That’s why staying hydrated has become an essential task that each of us must take on to prevent the high temperatures from affecting us and causing heatstroke. Although we’re used to this climate, we must never neglect our health.
Well-prepared to start the day, we left home and headed to the Sunsol Ecoland Hotel, where we were scheduled to carry out our chlorination and disinfection routine. This hotel is quite a distance from our home, but we always try to enjoy the ride and take advantage of the opportunities we have to admire the natural beauty of our beloved Margarita Island.
This time, we took Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue, a road that offers some beautiful views. The landscape in this area is full of contrasts and very natural. Traveling along the island’s northern coastline, where the mountains seem to come so close to the sea, is a wonderful experience that never loses its charm. No matter how many times we pass through there, we always find something that invites us to admire the surroundings. Seeing how the deep blue of the sea blends with the blue of the sky is simply fantastic—a sight that anyone would fall in love with.
Continúan en la Isla los días calurosos y de mucho trabajo. Por eso, mantenernos hidratados se ha convertido en una tarea fundamental que cada uno debe asumir para evitar que las altas temperaturas nos afecten y podamos sufrir un golpe de calor. Aunque estamos acostumbrados a este clima, nunca debemos descuidar nuestra salud.
Bien preparados para comenzar la jornada, salimos de casa rumbo al Hotel Sunsol Ecoland, donde nos correspondía realizar nuestra rutina de cloración y desinfección. Este hotel queda bastante distante de nuestro hogar, pero siempre tratamos de disfrutar el recorrido y aprovechar las oportunidades que tenemos para contemplar las bellezas naturales de nuestra querida Isla de Margarita.
En esta ocasión tomamos la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez, una vía que nos ofrece unas vistas preciosas. El paisaje por esta zona es muy contrastante y natural. Recorrer el litoral norte de la Isla, donde las montañas parecen acercarse tanto al mar, es una experiencia maravillosa que nunca pierde su encanto. No importa cuántas veces pasemos por allí, siempre encontramos algo que nos invita a admirar el entorno. Ver cómo el azul intenso del mar se une con el azul del cielo es sencillamente fantástico, una imagen que enamora a cualquiera.
Amid the scenery, the sea, and the mountains, we finally arrived at the Sunsol Ecoland Hotel. There, we were warmly welcomed by the quality assurance department. The charismatic Carel accompanied us on the standard tour of the facilities, and after completing that part of the visit, we headed to the main tank to begin our work.
Entre paisajes, mar y montañas llegamos finalmente al Hotel Sunsol Ecoland. Allí fuimos recibidos cordialmente por el departamento de calidad. La carismática Carel nos acompañó durante el recorrido habitual por las instalaciones y, después de completar esa parte de la visita, nos dirigimos al tanque principal para comenzar nuestra labor.
We took the necessary measurements and checked the various water parameters. Fortunately, all the values were within the established ranges. This gave us great satisfaction, as knowing that the system is in good condition and that our work helps ensure water quality encourages us to continue carrying out each routine with a sense of responsibility.
Realizamos las mediciones correspondientes y verificamos los diferentes parámetros del agua. Por fortuna, todos los valores se encontraban dentro de los rangos establecidos. Esto nos llenó de satisfacción, pues saber que el sistema se mantiene en buenas condiciones y que nuestro trabajo contribuye a garantizar la calidad del agua nos anima a continuar cumpliendo cada rutina con responsabilidad.
But climbing up onto the tank and not taking the opportunity to take pictures of the surrounding landscape would be almost unforgivable. The view from there is truly beautiful. On one side, you can see how the hotel is surrounded by mountains, while on the other, it’s very close to the sea. What a wonderful combination nature has given us!
Pero subir al tanque y no aprovechar para tomar fotografías del paisaje que nos rodea sería casi imperdonable. La vista desde ese punto es realmente hermosa. Por uno de los costados se puede apreciar cómo el hotel está rodeado de montañas, mientras que por el otro se encuentra muy cerca del mar. ¡Qué combinación tan maravillosa nos regala la naturaleza!
After taking in the scenery and snapping a few photos, we headed back down and got ready to return home. It was already around four in the afternoon. However, as soon as we left the hotel, the work truck started acting up. Luckily, my husband knows a little about mechanics, so he set about checking the vehicle and replacing some spark plugs to try to fix the problem.
While we were dealing with that minor setback, we were fortunate to be near La Playa Lagoon, which treated us to another beautiful view. Across the highway, we could also see the ocean in the distance. These are sights worth admiring, and they remind us how lucky we are to travel to such beautiful places.
Después de contemplar el paisaje y guardar algunas fotografías, bajamos y nos preparamos para regresar a casa. Ya eran cerca de las cuatro de la tarde. Sin embargo, apenas salimos del hotel, la camioneta de trabajo comenzó a presentar fallas. Por suerte, mi esposo conoce un poco de mecánica y se dispuso a revisar el vehículo y cambiar unas bujías para intentar solucionar el inconveniente.
Mientras atendíamos ese pequeño contratiempo, tuvimos la fortuna de estar cerca de la laguna de La Playa, que nos regaló otra vista preciosa. Al otro lado de la carretera también podíamos apreciar el mar a lo lejos. Son paisajes dignos de admirar y que nos recuerdan lo afortunados que somos de recorrer lugares tan hermosos.
