Happy start to the week, everyone. I sincerely hope your days are peaceful, that every task you undertake is productive, and that you find little moments of joy amid your daily routine. Today I feel re-energized, in high spirits, and with a mind ready to take on another week of life, with all that it brings: challenges, lessons, and also moments of rest that remind us of the value of the everyday.
The Sunday that just ended was, for me, a true gift. After an intense week of work, I allowed myself to sleep until 8:30 in the morning. It may seem like a small thing, but that rest was necessary, as I had ended the previous day exhausted. Waking up without rushing, with the light streaming in through the window, gave me a sense of peace with myself.
I spent the morning at home, doing some simple but meaningful chores. Among them, I made pumpkin flan again, because the first time it had turned out so delicious that everyone wanted seconds. Cooking for my family always fills me with satisfaction; it’s like giving them a little piece of love with every bite. While the flan was baking, the aroma spread throughout the house.

Deseo de corazón que sus días transcurran con tranquilidad, que cada tarea que emprendan sea productiva y que encuentren pequeños momentos de alegría en medio de la rutina. Hoy me siento con las energías renovadas, con el ánimo dispuesto y la mente lista para emprender una semana más de vida, con todo lo que ella trae; retos, aprendizajes y también instantes de descanso que nos recuerdan lo valioso de lo cotidiano.
El domingo que recién culminó fue, para mí, un verdadero regalo. Después de una semana intensa de trabajo, me permití dormir hasta las 8:30 de la mañana. Puede parecer un detalle pequeño, pero ese descanso fue necesario, pues el día anterior había terminado exhausta. Despertar sin prisas, con la luz entrando por la ventana, me dio la sensación de estar en paz conmigo misma.
La mañana transcurrió en casa, dedicada a algunos deberes sencillos pero significativos. Entre ellos, preparé nuevamente un flan de calabaza, porque la primera vez había quedado tan delicioso que todos se quedaron con ganas de repetir. Cocinar para mi familia siempre me llena de satisfacción; es como regalarles un pedacito de cariño en cada bocado. Mientras el flan se hacía, el olor se esparcía por toda la casa.
Our son, always full of youthful energy, got up early to tidy up the yard. He did it enthusiastically, since he had plans to go out later to buy some clothes. He has a special outing coming up, and like any young person, he wants to look different, feel refreshed, and show off his style. It made me happy to see him so motivated, because those little details are also part of his personality and identity.
While he was working in the yard, I stopped to watch the birdbath. Several birds had perched there, fluttering about and drinking water. I noticed there wasn’t much left, but I decided to wait until they were finished before refilling it. I find it very pleasant to watch the birds in that space, to see how they approach confidently and how their presence makes the yard a happier place as we enjoy the nature around us.
Nuestro hijo, siempre con su energía juvenil, se levantó temprano para recoger el patio. Lo hizo con entusiasmo, pues tenía planes de salir más tarde a comprarse ropa. Estos días tiene una salida especial y, como buen joven, quiere lucir diferente, sentirse renovado y mostrar su estilo. Me alegró verlo tan motivado, porque esos pequeños detalles también forman parte de su personalidad y su identidad.
Mientras él trabajaba en el patio, yo me detuve a observar el abrevadero de aves. Allí se habían posado varias, revoloteando y bebiendo agua. Noté que quedaba poca, pero preferí esperar a que terminaran antes de llenarlo de nuevo. Me resulta muy agradable contemplar a las aves en ese espacio, ver cómo se acercan confiadas y cómo su presencia convierte el patio en un lugar más alegre al disfrutar la naturaleza que nos rodea.
After lunch, we decided to head out to fill up the car. We wanted to start the week off on the right foot, with everything ready for the trips and responsibilities ahead of us. The weather was beautiful, with a clear sky that invited us to enjoy the scenery. Both the urban and natural details seemed to speak for themselves, making them special if we took the time to look closely.
Después del almuerzo, decidimos salir de casa para colocar combustible al vehículo. Queríamos comenzar la semana sin contratiempos, con todo listo para los traslados y las responsabilidades que nos esperan. El clima estaba hermoso, con un cielo despejado que invitaba a disfrutar del paisaje. Tanto los detalles urbanos como los naturales parecían hablar por sí solos, volviéndolos especiales si sabemos mirar con atención.
When we arrived at the gas station, we were surprised by how quickly everything went; there was hardly any line—just one other car besides ours.
Al llegar a la estación de servicio, nos sorprendió la rapidez del proceso; apenas había cola, solo otro vehículo además del nuestro.
With a full tank, we felt relaxed and ready for whatever lay ahead. Then we went to pick up our son, who was at the mall finishing his shopping. We walked around a bit while he wrapped things up.
Con el tanque lleno, nos sentimos tranquilos y preparados para lo que vendrá. Luego fuimos a recoger a nuestro hijo, que estaba en el centro comercial terminando sus compras. Caminamos un poco mientras él concluía.
Finally, we returned home with the satisfaction of having done what needed to be done and the peace of mind that comes from being ready to start a new workweek.
