[ENG/ESP] The greenery along the path that accompanies my days
The workweek continues as usual, and as it goes on, I sincerely hope that everything is going well for all of you, especially now that we’re on the cusp of another weekend. It’s always comforting to know that a little break is coming up—one that lets us recharge our batteries—though in my case, this weekend won’t exactly be a restful one. At the Ecoland hotel, we have quite a bit of work piled up, and although the workload is heavy, it’s also true that we have the valuable help of our friend Luis, who is handling other services so that my husband and I can devote ourselves almost full-time to Ecoland. The plan is to get the desalination plant upgrades underway and optimize water management—a task that requires patience, precision, and perseverance.
We took the Portachuelo road, and since it has been raining these past few days, the scenery was irresistibly beautiful.
Los días de trabajo continúan su curso, y mientras avanzan, deseo de corazón que a todos ustedes les vaya muy bien, especialmente ahora que ya estamos a las puertas de un nuevo fin de semana. Siempre es reconfortante saber que se acerca ese pequeño respiro que nos permite recargar energías, aunque en mi caso, este fin de semana no será precisamente de descanso. En el hotel Ecoland tenemos bastante trabajo acumulado, y aunque la carga es grande, también es cierto que contamos con la valiosa ayuda de nuestro amigo Luis, quien se está ocupando de otros servicios para que mi esposo y yo podamos dedicarnos casi a tiempo completo al Ecoland. La idea es encaminar el mejoramiento de la planta desalinizadora y optimizar el manejo de las aguas, un trabajo que requiere paciencia, precisión y constancia.
Tomamos la vía Portachuelo, y como ha llovido en estos días, los paisajes estaban irresistiblemente hermosos.
Nature seemed to have awakened with a special radiance, displaying all its splendor as if to offer us a little visual respite before the day began. The hills looked greener, the trees more vibrant, and the air had that fresh scent that only appears after the rain.
La naturaleza parecía haber despertado con un brillo especial, mostrando todo su esplendor como si quisiera regalarnos un pequeño alivio visual antes de comenzar la jornada. Los cerros lucían más verdes, los árboles más vivos, y el aire tenía ese aroma fresco que solo aparece después de la lluvia.
As I walked past the lagoon, the scenery became even more radiant. The weather was clear and bright, and the reflection of the sky on the water looked like a moving painting. Those little moments, though brief, help start the day with a sense of peace.
Al pasar por la laguna, el paisaje se volvió aún más radiante. El clima estaba claro, luminoso, y el reflejo del cielo sobre el agua parecía una pintura en movimiento. Esos pequeños momentos, aunque breves, ayudan a comenzar el día con una sensación de paz.
Once we arrived at the hotel, a busy day lay ahead of us. In addition to taking some measurements and performing calculations necessary to move forward with the desalination plant project, we also had to carry out our regular chlorination and disinfection routine. It’s a task that requires attention and discipline, but we perform it with dedication because we know how important it is for the smooth operation of the hotel and for the peace of mind of our guests.
Ya en el hotel, nos esperaba una jornada intensa. Además de realizar algunas mediciones y cálculos necesarios para avanzar con el proyecto de la planta desalinizadora, también nos tocaba cumplir con nuestra rutina de cloración y desinfección. Es un trabajo que requiere atención y disciplina, pero que hacemos con dedicación porque sabemos lo importante que es para el buen funcionamiento del hotel y para la tranquilidad de quienes lo visitan.
When it was all over, we decided to head home. By this point in the week, fatigue was already weighing on our shoulders, like a silent burden reminding us that the body needs rest too. Even so, the satisfaction of a job well done always makes up for the exhaustion.
We made our way back, passing through the beautiful towns of Tacarigua and Santa Ana. Their natural and urban landscapes are a true feast for the eyes. The houses, the squares, the trees, the people… everything has a special charm that helps relax the mind and ease the accumulated fatigue. It’s as if the road itself were responsible for unwinding the day’s stress.
Amid landscapes, silence, and quiet conversations, we finally arrived home. Nothing compares to that moment when you walk through the door and feel that you can finally let go of the day’s weight. We took our well-deserved rest, knowing that another day awaits us tomorrow, but also with the peace of mind that we are doing things right.
Al terminar todo, decidimos retirarnos. A estas alturas de la semana, el cansancio ya se siente sobre los hombros, como un peso silencioso que te recuerda que el cuerpo también necesita pausas. Aun así, la satisfacción del deber cumplido siempre compensa el agotamiento.
El camino de regreso lo hicimos, pasando por los hermosos poblados de Tacarigua y Santa Ana. Sus paisajes naturales y urbanos son un verdadero regalo para la vista. Las casas, las plazas, los árboles, la gente… todo tiene un encanto especial que ayuda a relajar la mente y mitigar el cansancio acumulado. Es como si el camino mismo se encargara de ir desanudando el estrés del día.
Entre paisajes, silencios y conversaciones suaves, llegamos finalmente a casa. Nada se compara con ese momento en el que uno cruza la puerta y siente que por fin puede soltar el peso del día. Tomamos nuestro merecido descanso, sabiendo que mañana nos espera otra jornada, pero también con la tranquilidad de que estamos haciendo las cosas bien.
