I hope you are enjoying a peaceful day, full of good things and special moments.
I want to tell you that here, these days, the weather has been especially nice. The sun has been shining gently, the sky has remained mostly clear, and best of all, the humidity has dropped considerably. For those of us who suffer from allergies, this is a real relief. I am very grateful to be able to breathe fresh air without that heavy feeling.
Today I want to share with you how my day went yesterday, which I enjoyed from start to finish. It was one of those days when, without any big plans, everything flows harmoniously. I did two things that I love: visiting the Ecoland Hotel as part of our work routine and, later, doing a very special craft project for my husband.
We left early for the hotel, taking advantage of the pleasant weather. The trip was peaceful, with that morning breeze that fills you with energy. When we arrived, we noticed that our work vehicle had some problems. Nothing serious, luckily. My husband, who is very skilled with technical details, realized that the spark plugs were a little dirty. According to him, this usually happens because of the variable quality of gasoline. With patience and his expert touch, he fixed it in no time.

Les cuento que por aquí, en estos días, el clima ha estado especialmente lindo. El sol ha brillado con suavidad, el cielo se ha mantenido un poco despejado y, lo mejor de todo, la humedad ha bajado considerablemente. Para quienes, como yo, sufrimos de alergias, esto es un verdadero alivio. Respirar aire fresco sin esa sensación pesada lo agradezco muchísimo.
Hoy quiero compartirles cómo fue mi día de ayer, que disfruté de principio a fin. Fue uno de esos días en los que, sin grandes planes, todo fluye con armonía. Hice dos cosas que me encantan; visitar el Hotel Ecoland como parte de nuestra rutina laboral y, más tarde, dedicarme a una manualidad muy especial para mi esposo.
Salimos temprano rumbo al hotel, aprovechando el clima tan agradable. El trayecto fue sereno, con esa brisa mañanera de esas que te llena de energía. Al llegar, notamos que nuestro transporte de trabajo presentaba algunas fallas. Nada grave, por suerte. Mi esposo, que es muy hábil con los detalles técnicos, se dio cuenta de que las bujías estaban un poco sucias. Según él, eso suele pasar por la calidad variable de la gasolina. Con paciencia y su toque experto, lo solucionó en poco tiempo.

Once the problem was solved, we headed to the main tank to carry out our routine. Just before climbing in, we came across a curious visitor: an insect that looked like a grasshopper, but more robust. The ever-charismatic Carel, who works with us, explained that they are also known as “locusts.” She told us that although they seem harmless, when they gather in large numbers they can become quite a destructive pest, as they devour everything in sight. I found it so interesting that I couldn't help but take some pictures. It was a fun and educational moment that brought a smile to our faces before we continued with our work.

Una vez resuelto el inconveniente, nos dirigimos al tanque principal para realizar nuestra rutina. Justo antes de subir, nos topamos con un curioso visitante; un insecto que parecía un saltamontes, pero más robusto. La siempre carismática Carel, que trabaja con nosotros, nos explicó que también se le conoce como “langostas”. Nos contó que, aunque parecen inofensivos, cuando se agrupan en grandes cantidades pueden convertirse en una plaga bastante destructiva, ya que devoran sin parar. Me pareció tan interesante que no pude evitar tomar algunas fotos. Fue un momento divertido y educativo que nos sacó una sonrisa antes de continuar con nuestras labores.

We climbed into the tank with great enthusiasm and managed to complete our routine satisfactorily. It is always rewarding to see a job well done, especially when it is done as a team and with good energy. When we finished, we returned home, and I already had in mind what my next activity of the day would be: a craft project that I knew my husband would love.
He had been asking me for a long time to make a design for the car's dashboard. Due to time constraints, I had been putting it off, but since he is about to have major repairs done to the vehicle, I thought it was the perfect time to surprise him. I got to work with great enthusiasm.

Subimos al tanque con mucho entusiasmo y logramos completar nuestra rutina de forma satisfactoria. Siempre es gratificante ver el trabajo bien hecho, sobre todo cuando se hace en equipo y con buena energía. Al terminar, regresamos a casa y yo ya tenía en mente lo que sería mi siguiente actividad del día; una manualidad que sabía que le encantaría a mi esposo.
Él me había pedido desde hace tiempo que le hiciera un diseño para la pizarra del auto. Por cuestiones de tiempo, lo había ido posponiendo, pero como está por hacerle una reparación importante al vehículo, pensé que era el momento perfecto para sorprenderlo. Me puse manos a la obra con mucha ilusión.

While I was working on the design, he kept coming in and out of the room, curious, trying to guess what I was doing. For me, the idea was clear from the start. We are Cubans living in the beautiful Republic of Venezuela, and many Venezuelan friends affectionately refer to us simply as “Cuba.” My husband, in particular, is often called that. So I decided to create a design that represented him, that spoke to his identity and that nickname he wears with such pride.

Mientras trabajaba en el diseño, él entraba y salía del cuarto, curioso, tratando de adivinar qué estaba haciendo. Para mí, la idea fue clara desde el principio. Somos cubanos viviendo en la hermosa República de Venezuela, y muchos amigos venezolanos, con cariño, suelen referirse a nosotros simplemente como “Cuba”. A mi esposo, en particular, le dicen así con frecuencia. Por eso, decidí crear un diseño que lo representara, que hablara de su identidad y de ese apodo que lleva con tanto orgullo.

When I finally showed him the result, you should have seen his face—it's a shame I didn't take a photo. He loved it. He's so excited that he already wants to put the board in the car, and knowing him, I'm sure he'll do it this week. It makes me happy to know that something made with so much love can brighten his day.

Cuando finalmente le mostré el resultado, había que haberle visto el rostro, lastima que no lo fotografie. Le encantó. Está tan emocionado que ya quiere colocar la pizarra en el auto, y conociéndolo, estoy segura de que esta misma semana lo hará. Me hace feliz saber que algo hecho con tanto cariño puede alegrarle el día.
