[ENG/ESP] Little moments that make my weekend special
My day off finally arrived—that day we all look forward to after a hectic week. I sincerely hope yours is also wonderful, restorative, and filled with those little moments that recharge our energy. We plan to use this day to get plenty of rest and recharge our batteries, because the week that’s just beginning promises to be quite busy, with a lot of work ahead. That’s why we really appreciate this break.
We had to work this Saturday, though fortunately the day wasn’t too difficult. We just had to check the water systems at the five-star Wyndham Concorde hotel and also at the Sunsol Unik hotel. Even so, every visit requires attention, precision, and consistency, because these are hotels that take great care to maintain their standards and rely on our work to keep everything in perfect condition for their guests.
The weather was a bit unpredictable at dawn. At times the sun shone brightly in a clear sky, and at others the sky was overcast as if rain were on the way. However, those weather fluctuations didn’t stop me from taking excellent photos along the way. Sometimes, those contrasts between light and shadow make Margarita’s landscapes look even more beautiful.
The first thing we did when we set out was to fill up at the Los Cerritos gas station, one of our favorites. Since it was Sunday, we had to wait in line for a bit because not all gas stations are open that day. But we’re used to it by now, and the wait wasn’t that long. With a full tank, we headed toward the Wyndham Concorde.
Al fin llegó mi domingo de descanso, ese día que uno espera con ansias después de una semana movida. De corazón deseo que el de ustedes también sea excelente, reparador y lleno de esos pequeños momentos que nos devuelven la energía. Nosotros pensamos aprovechar este día para descansar bastante y renovar nuestras fuerzas, porque la semana que recién comienza promete ser bastante activa y con mucho trabajo por delante. Por eso, este descanso lo valoramos.
Este sábado tuvimos que trabajar, aunque por fortuna la jornada no fue complicada. Solo nos tocaba chequear las aguas del hotel cinco estrellas Wyndham Concorde y también las del hotel Sunsol Unik. Aun así, cada visita requiere atención, precisión y constancia, porque son hoteles que cuidan mucho sus estándares y confían en que nuestro trabajo mantenga todo en perfecto estado para sus huéspedes.
El clima amaneció un tanto caprichoso. En ocasiones el sol brillaba radiante y despejado, y en otras el cielo se cubría de nubosidad como si quisiera anunciar lluvia. Sin embargo, ese vaivén del clima no impidió que tomara excelentes fotografías durante el recorrido. A veces, esos contrastes entre luz y sombra hacen que los paisajes de Margarita se vean aún más hermosos.
Lo primero que hicimos al emprender nuestro camino fue colocar combustible en la bomba de Los Cerritos, una de nuestras preferidas. Como era domingo, tuvimos que hacer un poco de cola porque no todas las estaciones abren ese día. Pero ya estamos acostumbrados, y la espera no fue tan larga. Con el tanque lleno, emprendimos el camino hacia el Wyndham Concorde.
When we arrived at the hotel, we had to wait a while because two buses full of Arab tourists had just pulled in; they had come to Margarita to take part in a festival. It was pretty hectic at the entrance, so we waited patiently so we could get in and do our work in peace.
Al llegar al hotel tuvimos que esperar un rato, porque justo habían llegado dos autobuses llenos de turistas árabes que vinieron a Margarita para participar en un festival. La entrada estaba bastante movida, así que esperamos pacientemente para poder ingresar y realizar nuestro trabajo con tranquilidad.
Once we were done, as always, we took a stroll through the beautiful Concorde Marina, which I love so much and find so relaxing. There’s something special about that place: the silence of the sea, the gentle rocking of the boats, the breeze that caresses you… it’s impossible not to stop for a few minutes to take it all in.
Una vez concluido, como siempre, dimos un recorrido por la hermosa marina Concorde, que tanto me gusta y me relaja. Ese lugar tiene algo especial: el silencio del mar, el movimiento suave de las lanchas, la brisa que acaricia… es imposible no detenerse unos minutos a contemplar.
Then we continued on to the Sunsol Unik Hotel, where we carried out our work routine very well.
Luego continuamos hacia el hotel Sunsol Unik, donde realizamos muy bien nuestra rutina de trabajo.
It was already past lunchtime, so we decided to head to the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, which is just a few meters from the hotel, with the idea of grabbing a bite to eat without having to go home to cook. Since we had already finished our errands, from that moment on we officially began to enjoy our weekend.
Ya era pasada la hora de almuerzo, así que decidimos entrar al centro comercial Parque Costa Azul, que está a pocos metros del hotel, con la idea de comer algo sin tener que llegar a casa a preparar. Como ya habíamos terminado nuestras obligaciones, desde ese momento comenzamos oficialmente a disfrutar nuestro fin de semana.
We stopped at Pollo Arturo, where the service is always great. We ordered some nuggets with fries and their delicious barbecue sauce, which never disappoints. With our stomachs full and the satisfaction of a job well done, we headed home to start fully enjoying our weekend break.
Nos quedamos en Pollo Arturo, donde siempre ofrecen buen servicio. Pedimos unas nuggets con papas y su deliciosa salsa barbacoa, que nunca falla. Con el estómago lleno y la satisfacción del deber cumplido, nos retiramos rumbo a casa para comenzar a disfrutar plenamente el descanso del fin de semana.
I wanted to share this little glimpse of our day with you, because even though it was a workday, it also had moments of calm, enjoyment, and those little things that make everyday life more bearable and beautiful.
