[ENG/ESP] From routine to discovery, that's how this Friday went.

I love weekends, especially when we have the opportunity to spend time together. These are moments when the pace of work slows down a bit, and you can breathe more calmly, enjoy the little details, and reconnect with what really matters most to me. Lately, I've been able to savor those moments more, as my workload has decreased a bit. When we're in the middle of the season on the island, the work can be really exhausting, but it also has its rewarding side. There's something special about knowing that you're contributing to the well-being of others, even if it involves effort and long hours.
For the past few days, I've been looking for a good insecticide to protect the wood in the house. It wasn't urgent, more like one of those tasks that you put off, but that are always there, lingering in your mind. So I had it written down as pending, for when I finished my work routine, waiting for the right moment to take care of it.
This Friday, like every morning, I got up early to start my work routine. It's a habit I really enjoy, especially on Fridays, because you can already feel the weekend approaching. The weather was spectacular, with bright sunshine. I took the opportunity to take some photos of the island's landscape, which always inspires me. There is something magical about those colors, the light filtering through the palm trees, the blue of the sky.

Me encantan los fines de semana, especialmente cuando tenemos la oportunidad de compartir tiempo juntos. Son esos momentos en los que el ritmo del trabajo baja un poco, y uno puede respirar con más calma, disfrutar de los pequeños detalles y reconectar con lo que realmente más me importa. Últimamente, he podido saborear más esos instantes, ya que la carga laboral ha disminuido un poco. Cuando estamos en plena temporada en la Isla, el trabajo puede ser realmente agotador, pero también tiene su lado gratificante. Hay algo especial en saber que uno está contribuyendo al bienestar de los demás, aunque implique esfuerzo y largas jornadas.
Desde hace algunos días he estado buscando un buen insecticida para proteger la madera de la casa. No era una urgencia, más bien una de esas tareas que uno va postergando, pero que siempre están ahí, rondando la mente. Así que la tenía anotada como pendiente, para cuando termine mi rutina de trabajo, esperando el momento adecuado para resolverla.
Este viernes, como cada mañana, me levanté temprano para comenzar mi rutina de trabajo. Es una costumbre que disfruto mucho, y más aún cuando se trata de un viernes, porque ya se siente la cercanía del descanso. El clima estaba espectacular, con ese sol brillante. Aproveché para tomar algunas fotos del paisaje de la Isla, que siempre me inspira. Hay algo mágico en esos colores, en la luz que se cuela entre las palmas, en el azul del cielo.
That day I had an important task: to check the water in the tanks at Costa Azul Park and the Unik Hotel. We started at the hotel, where we were greeted with kindness, as always. The atmosphere was quieter than usual, perhaps because it was Friday and the week was coming to an end. I took the necessary measurements and, to my satisfaction, the parameters were within normal limits. It's a very pleasant feeling when everything is in order, when the work bears visible fruit.
Ese día tenía una tarea importante, verificar las aguas de los tanques del Parque Costa Azul y del Hotel Unik. Comenzamos por el hotel, donde como siempre nos recibieron con amabilidad. El ambiente estaba más tranquilo de lo habitual, quizás por ser viernes y porque la semana ya estaba llegando a su fin. Realicé las mediciones necesarias y, para mi satisfacción, los parámetros estaban dentro de lo normal. Es una sensación muy grata cuando todo está en orden, cuando el trabajo da frutos visibles.
Then we headed to the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, which is very close by. There, we measured the tank's parameters and took the opportunity to plan the scheduled cleaning, as the date of execution is approaching. Everything went smoothly, allowing us to finish early and with the peace of mind of having fulfilled our responsibilities well.
Luego nos dirigimos al centro comercial Parque Costa Azul, que queda muy cerca. Allí medimos los parámetros del tanque y aprovechamos para planificar la limpieza programada, ya que se acerca la fecha de ejecución. Todo fluyó con eficiencia, lo que nos permitió terminar temprano y con la tranquilidad de haber cumplido bien con nuestras responsabilidades.
With our duty fulfilled, we decided to go into town to continue our search for insecticide. The heat was intense, so we made a strategic stop at La Vega, a grocery store located on La Marina Street in Porlamar. We only planned to buy a couple of cold juices to refresh ourselves a little. But life, with its little surprises, had a pleasant coincidence in store for us; right on a corner of the counter was the insecticide we had been looking for. I couldn't believe it. What a joy! But that wasn't all. We also found some large rivets, exactly the size we needed for our riveter, which we rarely find. And best of all, they were good quality. I never would have imagined that I would find these types of products in a grocery store.
We bought the juices, the insecticide, and the rivets. We left the store with smiles from ear to ear, feeling that the day had been more than productive. Sometimes, things line up in unexpected ways and give us those little triumphs.
Con el deber cumplido, decidimos ir a la ciudad para continuar con la búsqueda del insecticida. El calor era intenso, así que hicimos una parada estratégica en el bodegón La Vega, ubicado en la calle La Marina, en Porlamar. Solo pensábamos en comprar un par de jugos bien fríos para refrescarnos un poco. Pero la vida, con sus pequeñas sorpresas, nos tenía preparada una grata coincidencia; justo en una esquina del mostrador, ahí estaba el insecticida que tanto habíamos buscado. No lo podía creer. ¡Qué alegría! Pero eso no fue todo. También encontramos unos remaches grandes, del tamaño exacto que necesitábamos para nuestra remachadora, que rara vez conseguimos. Y lo mejor; eran de buena calidad. Jamás me iba a imaginar que en un bodegón iba a conseguir estos tipos de productos.
Compramos los jugos, el insecticida y los remaches. Salimos del bodegón con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja, sintiendo que el día había sido más que productivo. A veces, las cosas se alinean de forma inesperada y nos regalan esos pequeños triunfos.
Now that we're home with everything we need, we're getting ready to make the most of the weekend by doing some home improvements. There's something very satisfying about spending time on your home, lovingly taking care of every corner.

La verdad es que estamos muy felices de haber conseguido ese insecticida para proteger la madera de la casa. En climas tan tropicales como el de nuestra Isla, abundan los insectos que adoran la madera, así que esto nos da mucha tranquilidad.
