[ENG/ESP] Exploring the Tirano coastline: a Sunday to remember

photo_2026-04-06_00-11-57.jpg

Greetings, dear friends. I wish you a prosperous, productive week filled with those little moments that remind us how lucky we are. After Holy Week and spending quality time with family, my energy is completely renewed. I feel as though my body and spirit have found a new balance—a kind of calm that can only be achieved when you allow yourself to disconnect and embrace what truly matters.
Although the island was full of visitors, we always found a spot to enjoy the proximity of the sea. For us, there’s no need to dive into the choppy waters when we know we have the whole year to choose the perfect moment for a good dip. In reality, we enjoy sitting by the sea even more—feeling the sea breeze, listening to that eternal sound of the waves that heals everything in its path. It’s a simple ritual, but one that’s deeply our own.
Everyone at home spent this week doing whatever felt best, without pressure or expectations. The most valuable part was gathering for dinner as a family, sharing, laughing, and remembering that togetherness is the true treasure. Those moments together at the table always fill my heart.
Today I want to start the week by looking back on the trip we took this Sunday along the Tirano coast, a ride that ended at Puerto Abajo Beach. Interestingly, we hadn’t planned on going out on our motorcycles, because many tourists were already heading back and the roads were still a bit congested. But life is full of surprises. We left early to look for corn for our birds, because they only had enough left for two days and I didn’t want to carry that worry with me during the week.
After buying the corn—which, by the way, was super fresh—I felt at ease. I always pay attention to those details because I want our birds to be well-fed and comfortable. With that task taken care of, we decided to take advantage of the fact that many tourists were still asleep and went for a drive along the coast.

Saludos, queridos amigos.

My husband and I love spending hours sitting by the sea, watching the waves, the palm trees, and that ever-changing horizon. Our son, on the other hand, enjoys the more intense beaches—the ones with big waves that seem made for his energy. That day, the sea was a little choppy, but it still looked beautiful. The sun was warm, bright, almost playful. I took the opportunity to snap a few photos that turned out lovely.

I even ventured up a steep cliff, from where I could see Puerto Abajo Beach in the distance. The view was so vast that it felt as if the world were breathing with me.

We continued our walk, enjoying the sight of the fishing boats along the shore, accompanied by the gently swaying palm trees.

When we reached the end of the coastline, where Puerto Abajo is located, we saw that the dump trucks had arrived early to pick up the day’s catch. I didn’t get too close because I wanted to enjoy the sea without interrupting the work of those who were there. We sat for a while watching the fishermen go about their business, almost invisible among them, breathing in that delightful scent of the sea that fills your lungs and clears your mind.

We headed home, but before leaving, we stopped by the bakery “El Cardón” to grab a quick bite to eat before continuing on our way.
With happy hearts, we returned home to tend to our birds, rest, and get ready for this new week that’s just beginning.
I’ll see you in another post.
See you soon.
Bye.

Chao.

You got a very beautiful and a super duper relaxing view, I do not also do swimming either in the beach or pool but I do enjoyed the view of the place and the food.
