We are in those magical days of the year when joy, love, and hope take center stage. Days when our hearts are filled with joy and small gestures take on immense value. Christmas has that unique magic of bringing us together, reminding us of the important things, being close to those we love, sharing moments, and above all, celebrating life.
Being with family at this time of year is necessary, almost vital. It's like recharging your soul with hugs, laughter, and beautiful moments. And although we can't all be physically close, thanks to technology we have the joy of seeing each other, hearing each other, and feeling more united than ever. A video call, a loving message, or a shared photo can make all the difference and fill the hearts of those who are a little further away with light.
Feliz Navidad para todos
Estamos en esos días mágicos del año en los que la alegría, el amor y la esperanza se convierten en protagonistas. Días en los que el corazón se llena de alegría y los pequeños gestos cobran un valor inmenso. La Navidad tiene esa magia única de reunirnos, de hacernos recordar las cosas importantes, estar cerca de quienes amamos, compartir momentos y sobre todo celebrar la vida.
Estar junto a la familia en estas fechas es algo necesario, casi vital. Es como recargar el alma con abrazos, risas y lindos momentos. Y aunque no todos podemos estar físicamente cerca, gracias a la tecnología tenemos la dicha de vernos, escucharnos y sentirnos más unidos que nunca. Una videollamada, un mensaje lleno de cariño o una foto compartida pueden hacer la diferencia y llenar de luz el corazón de quienes están un pelín más lejos.
One of the things I enjoy most about Christmas is preparing delicious dishes to share. Food has the power to bring us together around the table and make us feel at home. In my case, I got started early, with my apron on and my heart full of joy. I set about making a ham bread, which my family loves so much. Interestingly, it wasn't part of our Christmas traditions, but over time it has earned a special place on our table. When something is made with love and everyone enjoys it, it becomes a tradition in its own right, ha ha ha.
Una de las cosas que más disfruto en Navidad es preparar platos deliciosos para compartir. La comida tiene ese poder de reunirnos alrededor de la mesa, de hacernos sentir en casa. En mi caso, desde temprano me puse manos a la obra, con el delantal puesto y el corazón dispuesto y alegre. Me dediqué a preparar un pan de jamón, ese que tanto le gusta a mi familia. Curiosamente, no era parte de nuestras tradiciones navideñas, pero con el tiempo se ha ganado un lugar especial en nuestra mesa. Y es que cuando algo se hace con amor y todos lo disfrutan, se convierte en tradición por derecho propio jajajaja.
Although I spent most of the day in the kitchen, I do it gladly, lovingly, and even passionately. I don't see it as a chore, but as a way to express my love. Every ingredient I choose, every step of the recipe, every aroma that spreads through the house, is a sign of affection. The idea is to make everyone happy, to make them feel special, and that fills me with satisfaction. Seeing their faces light up as they taste each dish, hearing their sincere compliments, feeling their joy... all of that moves me deeply.
They also did their part, helping out where necessary, and since I am currently the queen of the house, they had a nice surprise for me.
Aunque pasó gran parte del día en la cocina, lo hago con gusto, con cariño y hasta con pasión. No lo veo como una obligación, sino como una forma de expresar mi amor. Cada ingrediente que elijo, cada paso de la receta, cada aroma que se esparce por la casa, es una muestra de afecto. La idea es que todos estén felices, que se sientan especiales, y eso me llena de satisfacción. Ver sus rostros iluminados al probar cada platillo, escuchar sus elogios sinceros, sentir su alegría… todo eso me emociona profundamente.
Ellos también hicieron su parte, apoyando en lo necesario y como soy de momento la reina de la casa tuvieron para mí un lindo detalle.
My day has been very busy, yes, but it has also been one of the happiest days of the year. The kitchen became my stage, and each recipe was a small work of art dedicated to my loved ones. We shared not only food, but also our music, which made us sing and laugh, and we toasted with a delicious wine that perfectly accompanied our dinner. Those moments, although simple, are what fill me with joy.
Mi día ha sido muy activo, sí, pero también ha sido uno de los más felices del año. La cocina se convirtió en mi escenario, y cada receta fue una pequeña obra de arte dedicada a los míos. Compartimos no solo comida, sino también nuestra música que nos hizo cantar y reír, y brindamos con un delicioso vino que acompañó perfectamente nuestra cena. Esos momentos, aunque sencillos, son los que me llenan de alegría.
And so, surrounded by aromas, flavors, and smiles, my day passed. It was a day filled with love and the warmth of home, with my family together, even though some of them are miles away. Because in the end, Christmas isn't measured in gifts or decorations, but in the bonds we strengthen, the hugs we give, and the love we share.

Y así, entre aromas, sabores y sonrisas, transcurrió mi día. Un día lleno de amor, de calor de hogar, por tener a mi familia juntos, aunque algunos estén a kilómetros de distancia. Porque al final, la Navidad no se mide en regalos ni en adornos, sino en los lazos que fortalecemos, en los abrazos que damos y en el amor que compartimos.

A mi también me tocó pasar toda la tarde en la cocina, y de un pan de jamón con ponche crema casero, terminé armando ensalada de gallina y hasta unos bollitos improvisados que parecieran hallacas. Lo bonito es que mis hijos lo comieron todo con gusto, que aunque son venezolanos, sus gustos van más hacia la comida de Argentina.
