[ENG/ESP] Between work and home, small routines that bring joy
It's Friday, and with it comes the feeling of relief that accompanies the last day of work of the week. It's as if the body and mind are preparing for a rest, for that time we so desperately need and that allows us to reconnect with what really matters: family, home, and those little pending tasks that patiently await our attention. Among them, one that is very special to me: taking care of my little turtles, which are part of my daily life and remind me of the importance of lovingly caring for each of the living beings around us.
I hope this Friday is relaxing for all of you, and I hope mine is calm too, because Thursday was an intense day at work, one of those days that leaves its mark on the body but also brings satisfaction. Even so, I had the opportunity to take some photos that I loved, thanks to the vibrant and beautiful weather, as is usually the case on this island that I love so much. The sunlight seemed to caress every corner and turn the everyday into a spectacle worthy of admiration.
Ya es viernes y con él llega la sensación de alivio que acompaña al último día de trabajo de la semana. Es como si el cuerpo y la mente se prepararan para un descanso, para ese tiempo que tanto necesitamos y que nos permite reconectar con lo que realmente importa; la familia, el hogar y esas pequeñas tareas pendientes que esperan pacientemente nuestra atención. Entre ellas, una muy especial para mí; acomodar a mis tortuguitas, que forman parte de mi vida cotidiana y me recuerdan la importancia de cuidar con cariño cada uno de los seres vivos que nos rodean.
Deseo que este viernes sea relajado para todos ustedes, y espero que el mío también transcurra con calma, porque el jueves fue un día de trabajo intenso, de esos que dejan huella en el cuerpo pero también satisfacción. Aun así, tuve la oportunidad de tomar algunas fotos que me encantaron, gracias a que el clima estaba vibrante y hermoso, como suele ser costumbre en esta Isla que tanto quiero. La luz del sol parecía acariciar cada rincón y convertir lo cotidiano en un espectáculo digno de admirar.
We left home early, in high spirits, reflecting the weather that accompanied us. It couldn't be any other way; I enjoy the work we do, and I am accompanied by my great life partner, my husband, with whom I will celebrate twenty-eight years of marriage at the end of the year. That number is not just a number; it represents the journey we have taken together, the conversations we have shared, the landscapes we have contemplated, and the certainty that life is more enjoyable when you are accompanied by someone who understands and supports you. So, between chats and laughter, we observed the landscapes that Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue offered us that day, as if they were living postcards unfolding before our eyes.
Salimos temprano de casa, con el ánimo radiante, reflejo del mismo clima que nos acompañaba. No podía ser de otra manera; disfruto el trabajo que realizamos, y además voy acompañada por mi gran compañero de vida, mi esposo, con quien al finalizar el año cumpliré ya veintiocho años de matrimonio. Esa cifra no es solo un número, es la representación de un camino recorrido juntos, de conversaciones compartidas, de paisajes contemplados y de la certeza de que la vida se disfruta más cuando se transita en compañía de alguien que te entiende y te apoya. Así, entre charlas y risas, íbamos observando los paisajes que el día nos regalaba la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez, como si fueran postales vivientes que se desplegaban ante nuestros ojos.
Our destination was Sunsol Ecoland, where the charismatic Carel and young Cristian were waiting for us. They were ready to accompany us on the task of climbing up to the main tank to carry out the necessary checks and disinfection.

Once upstairs, we began with the usual procedures; we checked the parameters and applied the hypochlorite. Although I kept my distance from the product, I didn't stop wearing my mask to protect myself, because after having been ill, I learned that you can never be too careful and that prevention is always your best ally.
After waiting for the chemical compound to take effect, we measured again and the results were excellent. That feeling of a job well done is always comforting.
Una vez arriba, comenzamos con los procedimientos habituales; revisamos los parámetros y aplicamos el hipoclorito. Aunque me mantuve alejada del producto, no dejé de usar la mascarilla para protegerme, porque después de haber pasado por una enfermedad aprendí que todo cuidado es poco y que la prevención siempre es la mejor aliada.
Tras esperar el tiempo necesario para que el compuesto químico hiciera su efecto, volvimos a medir y los resultados fueron excelentes. Esa sensación de deber cumplido siempre reconforta.
When we finished, I took the opportunity to take several photos of the surroundings, because the place was surrounded by natural beauty that seemed impossible to ignore. The clear sky, vibrant vegetation, and hotel architecture combined to create a scene that looked like something out of a magazine.
We decided to take a short tour of the hotel, and as the weather remained so radiant, the images I captured looked like authentic postcards, each with its own charm.
Al terminar, aproveché para tomar varias fotos del entorno, porque el lugar estaba rodeado de una belleza natural que parecía imposible de ignorar. El cielo despejado, la vegetación vibrante y la arquitectura del hotel se combinaban en un cuadro que parecía sacado de una revista.

We continued on our way, appreciating how the intense green of the hills blended with the infinite blue of the sky, creating a contrast that invited contemplation and gratitude.

However, we still had a practical task to complete; our car's fuel hose needed to be replaced. My husband, always willing and skilled with these things, was busy repairing it. Following a friend's recommendation, we headed to “El Turco Negro.” It was a wise decision, because we found the right hose there. Although they didn't sell less than half a meter and we only needed a small piece, the purchase left us feeling calm and satisfied.
Sin embargo, aún nos quedaba una tarea práctica por resolver; la manguera de gasolina de nuestro carro necesitaba ser reemplazada. Mi esposo, siempre dispuesto y hábil con estas cosas, estaba en plena reparación. Siguiendo la recomendación de un amigo, nos dirigimos a “El Turco Negro”. Fue una decisión acertada, porque allí encontramos la manguera adecuada. Aunque no vendían menos de medio metro y nosotros solo necesitábamos un pedacito, la compra nos dejó tranquilos y satisfechos.
With the hose in hand and the feeling of having fulfilled all of the day's responsibilities, we set off on our return home.
The journey back was accompanied by that mixture of tiredness and satisfaction that you only feel when you know you have done the right thing, that you have worked hard, and that now it is time to rest. It is nice to return home with a light heart.
