[ENG/ESP] An afternoon of colors painting the sky.
Happy Friday, everyone! I sincerely hope you are enjoying the Christmas season to the fullest, which for many is synonymous with reunions, warm hugs, twinkling lights, and beautiful moments. For me, these days have been quite peaceful, filled with the kind of tranquility that only family togetherness can provide. And although it may sound repetitive, I never tire of saying how much I enjoy these moments shared with my loved ones.
Yesterday was a particularly peaceful day. Since the previous day's meal had been quite filling, I didn't have to spend any time in the kitchen, which I was very grateful for. Sometimes, those little breaks are a gift in themselves. We took advantage of the morning to relax at home, watching some Christmas movies that have become a tradition at this time of year and others that are almost Christmas classics. Between laughter and comments, the morning flew by.
In the afternoon, we decided to go out for a while. At this time of year, it's almost a custom on the island to go to the beach. It's as if the sea calls us with its gentle breeze and promise of tranquility. This time we chose to go to Playa El Tirano, a place that always offers us beautiful scenery and a very positive and special energy. The weather was perfect; the sky was clear and the sun was beginning to lose its intensity, which made the atmosphere much more pleasant.

Espero de corazón que estén disfrutando al máximo estos días navideños, que para muchos son sinónimo de reencuentros, abrazos cálidos, luces titilantes y momentos muy hermosos. Por mi parte, estos días han sido bastante tranquilos, llenos de esa paz que solo la unión familiar puede brindar. Y aunque suene repetitivo, no me canso de decir cuánto disfruto de estos instantes compartidos con mis seres queridos.
Ayer fue un día particularmente sereno. Como la comida del día anterior había rendido bastante, no fue necesario que me metiera en la cocina, lo cual agradecí profundamente. A veces, esos pequeños descansos son un regalo en sí mismos. Aprovechamos la mañana para relajarnos en casa, viendo algunas películas navideñas que ya se han vuelto tradición en estas fechas y otras que son casi que clásicos navideños. Entre risas, comentarios la mañana se nos fue volando.
Ya en la tarde, decidimos salir un rato. En esta época del año, es casi una costumbre en la isla ir a la playa. Es como si el mar nos llamara con su brisa suave y su promesa de tranquilidad. Esta vez elegimos ir a Playa El Tirano, un lugar que siempre nos regala paisajes hermosos y una energía muy positiva y especial. El clima estaba perfecto; el cielo despejado y el sol comenzando a bajar su intensidad, lo que hacía el ambiente mucho más agradable.
To my surprise, the sea was a little rougher than usual. The waves crashed forcefully against the shore, but rather than being uncomfortable, it was mesmerizing. Although we didn't dare to go swimming, we sat down to enjoy the show. Some of the more daring vacationers ventured into the water, while others had fun riding jet skis, leaving trails of white foam in their wake.
It was a vibrant spectacle, full of life and movement, which contrasted with our contemplative calm.
Para mi sorpresa, el mar estaba un poco más agitado de lo habitual. Las olas rompían con fuerza en la orilla, a lo lejos de incomodar, resultaba hipnotizante. Aunque no nos animamos a bañarnos, nos sentamos a disfrutar del espectáculo. Algunos temporadistas más valientes se aventuraban al agua, mientras otros se divertían montando motos acuáticas, dejando estelas de espuma blanca a su paso.
Era un espectáculo vibrante, lleno de vida y movimiento, que contrastaba con nuestra calma contemplativa.
One of the most magical moments was when, right at that golden hour of the afternoon, the sun began to shine directly on Los Frailes Island. From where we were standing, we could see it with impressive clarity. The sun's rays bathed it in warm light, highlighting every contour. It was as if nature had given us a living postcard, a painting created by the sky itself.
Uno de los momentos más mágicos fue cuando, justo en esa hora dorada de la tarde, el sol comenzó a iluminar directamente la Isla Los Frailes. Desde nuestra posición, podíamos verla con una claridad impresionante. Los rayos del sol la bañaban con una luz cálida, resaltando cada contorno. Era como si la naturaleza nos regalara una postal viviente, un cuadro pintado por el mismísimo cielo.
But our afternoon didn't end there. We decided to end the day on a high note and headed to Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue, just one kilometer from the Constanza viewpoint, to watch the sunset. This place has something special. From there, the horizon opens up in all its splendor, and when the sun begins to set, the sky transforms into a palette of colors ranging from red to the softest orange, with touches of gold. It's a spectacle that, no matter how many times you see it, always manages to move you.
Pero nuestra tarde no terminó allí. Decidimos cerrar el día con broche de oro y nos dirigimos a la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez, justo a un kilómetro del mirador Constanza, para ver la puesta de sol. Este lugar tiene algo especial. Desde allí, el horizonte se abre en todo su esplendor, y cuando el sol comienza a descender, el cielo se transforma en una paleta de colores que va del rojo al naranja más suave, con pinceladas de dorado. Es un espectáculo que, por más veces que lo veas, siempre logra emocionarte.
We stayed there for a long time, in silence, simply observing. Sometimes words are unnecessary when the soul is so full. Finally, we began our journey home with hearts overflowing with gratitude and a sense of peace that only nature can provide.
That's how we spent our afternoon, amid the murmur of the sea, the warmth of the sun, and the beauty of an unforgettable sunset. It's those simple moments, shared with those we love, that truly give meaning to life.

Nos quedamos allí un buen rato, en silencio, simplemente observando. A veces no hacen falta palabras cuando el alma está tan llena. Al final, emprendimos el regreso a casa con el corazón rebosante de gratitud y una sensación de paz que solo la naturaleza puede brindar.
