[ENG/ESP] A week that started off calmly and allowed everything to go more smoothly
After a relaxing weekend, you can feel your energy renewing itself and your strength returning, ready to start the week in good spirits. It always happens to me; when I manage to disconnect—even just a little—I come back with a clearer mind, more enthusiasm, and that desire to catch up on what’s left undone. That’s why, as this week gets underway, I feel energetic, busy, and with plenty to do. As always, I’ll be sharing a little bit of my day-to-day with you. And I hope you all have a productive, active, and, above all, happy week.
My Monday began with a delightful sense of calm. The weather was beautiful—one of those days when the sky seems clearer and the scenery looks more vibrant. The morning light made everything around me feel more beautiful, and of course, I didn’t waste a single moment; I took the opportunity to capture a few moments so I could show you a little bit of daily life here on our beloved Margarita Island.
Después de un fin de semana relajado, uno siente cómo se renuevan las energías y regresan las fuerzas para comenzar la semana con buen ánimo. A mí me pasa siempre; cuando logró desconectar aunque sea un poquito, vuelvo con más claridad, más disposición y con ese deseo de compensar lo que quedó pendiente. Por eso, esta semana que apenas comienza la siento activa, movida y con muchas cosas por hacer. Igual les iré mostrando, como siempre, un pedacito de mi día a día. Y desde ya les deseo que ustedes también tengan una semana productiva, activa y, sobre todo, feliz.
Mi lunes comenzó con una tranquilidad deliciosa. El clima estaba hermoso, de esos días en los que el cielo parece más limpio y los paisajes se ven más vivos. La luz de la mañana hacía que todo a mi alrededor se sintiera más bonito, y por supuesto, no desaproveché ni un instante; aproveché para capturar algunos momentos y así poder mostrarles un poco de la vida cotidiana aquí en nuestra querida Isla de Margarita.
My life partner—my husband—always finds a way to make the journey more enjoyable. He has a knack for cracking a joke just when you need it, and that makes the trip feel lighter. Between his witty remarks and the beautiful scenery around us, the trip felt short and pleasant. It’s amazing how the combination of laughter and nature can transform any morning.
Mi compañero de vida —mi esposo— siempre encuentra la manera de hacer el camino más ameno. Tiene ese don para soltar un chiste justo cuando uno lo necesita, y eso hace que el trayecto se vuelva más ligero. Entre sus ocurrencias y los paisajes hermosos que nos acompañaban, el viaje se sintió corto y agradable. Es increíble cómo la combinación de risas y naturaleza puede transformar cualquier mañana.
Our first stop was the Sunsol Unik Hotel, where we had to perform our routine chlorination and disinfection. As usual, we were greeted with kindness and professionalism, something we always appreciate because it makes the job more bearable. We headed to the main tank to conduct the necessary inspection. After completing the process, we checked the readings, and to our relief—and theirs—everything was in order.
And when I say peace of mind, I really mean it. In these times of water emergency due to the severe drought affecting the island, many places have been forced to fill their tanks with well water. That water, due to its high salinity, tends to be a bit harsh and can alter the parameters. That’s why, when a tank checks out, we feel a huge sense of relief. We can’t leave until everything is within the correct parameters, so every good result is a small victory.
Nuestro primer destino fue el hotel Sunsol Unik, donde teníamos que realizar nuestra rutina de cloración y desinfección. Como de costumbre, nos recibieron con amabilidad y profesionalismo, algo que siempre agradecemos porque hace el trabajo más llevadero. Nos dirigimos al tanque principal para hacer la revisión correspondiente. Después de completar el proceso, verificamos los valores y, para nuestra tranquilidad —y la de ellos—, todo estaba en orden.
Y cuando digo tranquilidad, lo digo de verdad. En estos tiempos de emergencia hídrica por la fuerte sequía que ha afectado a la isla, muchos lugares se han visto obligados a surtir sus tanques con agua de pozo. Esa agua, por su alta salinidad, suele ser un poco agresiva y puede alterar los parámetros. Por eso, cuando un tanque da bien, sentimos un alivio enorme. No podemos retirarnos hasta que todo esté dentro de los valores correctos, así que cada buen resultado es una pequeña victoria.
After finishing up at the hotel, we headed to the Parque Costa Azul shopping center to check the filters. When we arrived, the maintenance manager asked us to also inspect the pump area, as it had been experiencing some issues over the weekend. We conducted the necessary inspection and then went inside the shopping center to the offices to report what we had observed with the pump system.
Al terminar en el hotel, nos dirigimos al centro comercial Parque Costa Azul para revisar los filtros. Al llegar, el jefe de mantenimiento nos pidió que también revisáramos el área de bombeo, ya que había presentado algunas dificultades durante el fin de semana. Hicimos la inspección correspondiente y luego entramos al centro comercial para dirigirnos a las oficinas y plantear lo que observamos en el sistema de bombeo.
Before heading home, we walked around the mall for a while to cool off in the air-conditioned atmosphere. That little break is always welcome, especially after being out in the sun and surrounded by equipment.
Antes de regresar a casa, caminamos un rato por el centro comercial para refrescarnos con el aire climatizado. Ese pequeño descanso siempre se agradece, sobre todo después de estar bajo el sol y entre equipos.
Our day, overall, was pretty quiet. We stuck to our routines, and, as usually happens, there was always some unexpected little task that needed to be taken care of. But all in all, it was a manageable day, without any rushing or stress—the kind of day you’re grateful for because you don’t end up exhausted when you get home.

Nuestro día, en general, fue bastante tranquilo. Cumplimos con nuestras rutinas y, como suele pasar, siempre aparece un trabajito extra de imprevisto al que hay que darle solución. Pero dentro de todo, fue un día manejable, sin carreras ni apuros, de esos que uno agradece porque no terminamos agotados al llegar a casa.
Los veré en el transcurso de la semana, donde les seguiré contando un poco de mis días y de esta vida sencilla pero bonita que llevamos.
