[ENG/ESP] A Thursday that began with the beauty of Margarita's landscapes.
Happy weekend, everyone. I hope you are already relaxing and enjoying that well-deserved break we all need after a week of work and commitments. The weekend always comes as a gift, an opportunity to recharge our batteries, spend time with our families, and enjoy the tranquility of home.
In our case, we plan to do some things at home, some repairs and activities that always get put off during the week. You know how it is; between work responsibilities and daily routines, we often leave those little things that keep the home tidy and harmonious for Saturday or Sunday. Later on, I'll show you in another post how we did with those tasks, because I always like to share with you not only the moments of work, but also the simple moments that are part of our daily lives.
But on this occasion, I want to tell you about my second day at the airport, an experience I had recently that left me with some very interesting lessons and memories. Last Thursday, I had an important meeting to negotiate a work contract, and thank God everything went well. That contract officially began this past Friday, so I can say that I ended the week with a new responsibility and the satisfaction of having taken another step forward in the family business.
We left early for the airport. It's about 25 minutes from home, which makes it a bit far, but the drive is pleasant because the scenery is beautiful. The day dawned with some clouds covering the sky, but shortly after, the sun came out quite strongly, illuminating everything and giving me the opportunity to take some pictures that I will share with you.

El fin de semana siempre llega como un regalo, una oportunidad para recargar energías, compartir con la familia, disfrutar de la tranquilidad del hogar.
En nuestro caso, pensamos hacer algunas cosas en casa, algunos arreglos y actividades que siempre quedan pendientes durante los días de semana. Ya saben cómo es; entre las responsabilidades laborales y las rutinas diarias, muchas veces dejamos para el sábado o el domingo esos detalles que hacen que el hogar se mantenga en orden y armonía. Más adelante les mostraré en otra publicación cómo nos fue con esas tareas, porque siempre me gusta compartir con ustedes no solo los momentos de trabajo, sino también los instantes sencillos que forman parte de nuestra vida cotidiana.
Pero en esta ocasión quiero contarles cómo fue mi segundo día en el aeropuerto, una experiencia que viví recientemente y que me dejó aprendizajes y recuerdos muy interesantes. El jueves pasado tuve una reunión importante para negociar un contrato de trabajo, y gracias a Dios todo salió bien. Ese contrato comenzó oficialmente este viernes que recién culminó, así que puedo decir que cerré la semana con una nueva responsabilidad y con la satisfacción de haber dado un paso más en la compañía familiar.
Desde temprano nos trasladamos al aeropuerto. Queda a unos 25 minutos de casa, lo cual lo hace un poco distante, pero el trayecto es agradable porque el paisaje es hermoso. El día amaneció con algunas nubes que cubrían el cielo, pero poco después el sol salió con bastante fuerza, iluminando todo y regalándome la oportunidad de tomar algunas fotografías que compartiré con ustedes.
When we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by the staff who had coordinated the tour. The visit focused on the water tanks, which, as we were told, needed to be disinfected and painted. Our first task was to take measurements, as they were unclear about the actual capacity of drinking water that these tanks could store.
The tanks were located in different places, some quite far away, so we had to take internal airport transportation to reach them.
Al llegar al aeropuerto fuimos recibidos por el personal que había coordinado el recorrido. La visita estaba enfocada en los tanques de agua, que según nos explicaron debían de ser desinfectados y coloreados. Nuestra primera tarea fue realizar mediciones, ya que no tenían claridad sobre la capacidad real de reserva de agua potable que esos tanques podían almacenar.
Los tanques estaban ubicados en diferentes puntos, algunos bastante distantes, por lo que tuvimos que tomar un transporte interno del aeropuerto para llegar a ellos.
In another part of the route, the only option was to walk through a steeply sloping area, which made the experience more physically demanding, but also more rewarding.
En otra parte del recorrido, la única opción fue caminar por una zona con gran pendiente, lo que hizo la experiencia más exigente físicamente, pero también más enriquecedora.
When we arrived, we realized that there were many things that needed to be changed at the site, from the tank caps to the way volume measurements were taken. However, that was why we were there, to indicate what to do and how to improve the tank. We measured the TDS, just to note the quality of water we would be dealing with, and the truth is that it was at an adequate level.
Al llegar, nos dimos cuenta de que había muchas cosas que debían cambiarse en el lugar; desde las tapas de los tanques hasta la forma en que se realizaban las mediciones de los volúmenes. Sin embargo, para eso estábamos allí, para indicar qué hacer y cómo mejorar el tanque, le medimos los tds, solo para anotar con qué calidad de agua estaríamos lidiando y la verdad que dieron en un nivel adecuado.
There were two tanks that I didn't climb into. My husband and one of the airport employees decided that, for safety reasons, it was better for us women to stay below, taking measurements and doing calculations. Although I would have liked to climb in, I understood that safety comes first and that everyone has an important role to play in teamwork.
Hubo dos tanques a los que no subí. Mi esposo y uno de los empleados del aeropuerto consideraron que, por seguridad, era mejor que las mujeres nos quedáramos abajo anotando las medidas y realizando los cálculos. Aunque me hubiera gustado subir, entendí que la seguridad es lo primero y que cada uno cumple un rol importante en el trabajo en equipo.
Once we were near the tanks and had finished our work, we had the opportunity to watch the planes land from very close by. It was a fascinating experience: hearing the noise of the engines, seeing the precision with which the pilots maneuvered, and witnessing the magnitude of these machines that seem to defy gravity. Being there, so close to all that movement, made me appreciate even more the importance of every detail in the operation of an airport.
Ya cerca de los tanques, y una vez terminado el trabajo, tuvimos la oportunidad de observar cómo aterrizaban los aviones desde muy cerca. Fue una experiencia fascinante; sentir el ruido de los motores, ver la precisión con la que los pilotos maniobran y la magnitud de esas máquinas que parecen desafiar la gravedad. Estar allí, tan cerca de todo ese movimiento, me hizo valorar aún más la importancia de cada detalle en el funcionamiento de un aeropuerto.
Dear friends, that was my Friday, a day on which I ended the week with a new contract to execute and the satisfaction of having completed an important task. I am left with the joy of having learned something new, of having shared moments with my husband and the airport team, and of having had an experience that I will surely remember for a long time.
