[ENG/ESP] A Thursday that began with the beauty of Margarita's landscapes.
Happy Friday. The weekend is here, and that always brings with it a special feeling; the door is open to a well-deserved rest, to those moments that allow us to recharge our batteries and enjoy the simplest things in life. I sincerely hope that it will be a great weekend for all of you, that you will find space for joy, calm, and, why not, for sharing with those you love most. For my part, I plan to take advantage of my Saturday and Sunday to finish some pending tasks at home, organize details that I have been putting off, and, above all, rest, because we deserve it.
But before I get into that well-deserved rest, I want to tell you about my activities on Thursday, a day that just ended and left me with several reflections and anecdotes worth sharing.
We got up very early because we had an important meeting. The appointment was with some potential new clients, and the idea was to discuss a contract that could open up new work opportunities. From the start, the day was beautiful; the weather was perfect, and the temperature was not too hot even though the sun was shining brightly. The blue sky contrasted with the intense green of the natural landscape, and the urban tones also seemed more radiant than usual. It was as if everything had aligned to give us an optimistic setting.
Feliz viernes. Ya estamos de fin de semana y eso siempre trae consigo una sensación especial; la puerta abierta hacia un descanso merecido, hacia esos momentos que nos permiten recargar energías y disfrutar de las cosas más sencillas de la vida. Deseo de corazón que sea genial para todos ustedes, que encuentren en estos días un espacio para la alegría, la calma y, por qué no, para compartir con quienes más quieren. Por mi parte, pienso aprovechar mi sábado y domingo para concluir algunas cosas pendientes en casa, organizar detalles que he ido postergando y, sobre todo, descansar, porque nos lo merecemos.
Pero antes de entrar en ese merecido descanso, quiero contarles cómo fue mi actividad del jueves, un día que recién culminó y que dejó en mí varias reflexiones y anécdotas que vale la pena compartir.
Nos levantamos muy temprano, porque teníamos una reunión importante. La cita era con unos posibles nuevos clientes, y la idea era discutir un contrato que podría abrir nuevas oportunidades de trabajo. Desde el inicio, el día se presentó hermoso; el clima estaba perfecto, la temperatura no era tan caliente a pesar de que el sol brillaba con fuerza. El cielo azul contrastaba con el verde intenso del paisaje natural, y los tonos urbanos también parecían más radiantes de lo habitual. Era como si todo se hubiera alineado para regalarnos un escenario optimista.
The trip, however, was not short. We had to travel quite a distance to get to General en Jefe Santiago Mariño Airport, where the meeting was scheduled for 9:30 in the morning. The journey took us through the city of Porlamar, which always surprises with its hustle and bustle, its businesses and establishments that are constantly being renovated, giving the city life and dynamism.
El traslado, sin embargo, no era corto. Teníamos que recorrer una buena distancia hasta llegar al aeropuerto General en Jefe Santiago Mariño, donde la reunión estaba pautada para las 9:30 de la mañana. El trayecto nos llevó a atravesar la ciudad de Porlamar, que siempre sorprende con su movimiento, sus negocios y locales que se renuevan constantemente, dándole vida y dinamismo a la ciudad.
In the middle of that journey, something happened that still makes me smile. A truck loaded with pumpkins cut us off abruptly twice. It was a tense moment, but thanks to my husband's attention and reflexes, we managed to avoid an accident. A few meters ahead, the truck driver signaled for us to stop. At first, we thought he might want to apologize, but what happened was even more curious and humane: he gave us some pumpkins as a token of gratitude. He explained, laughing and somewhat embarrassed, that a wasp had gotten into his shirt, which is why he had maneuvered so abruptly. He gratefully told us that my husband had been a true gentleman behind the wheel, because another driver might have yelled at him or reacted angrily. That simple gesture reminded us that life is full of little mishaps, but also opportunities to act with patience and kindness.
It's things like this that make you realize you should always leave home with a positive attitude. Difficulties arise along the way, but the way we deal with them can transform a bad experience into one that leaves us with a smile and even an unexpected gift.
En medio de ese recorrido ocurrió algo que aún me hace sonreír. Un camión cargado de auyamas (calabazas) se nos cruzó bruscamente en dos ocasiones. Fue un momento de tensión, pero gracias a la atención y reflejos de mi esposo, logramos evitar un accidente. Unos metros más adelante, el conductor del camión nos hizo señas para que nos detuviéramos. Al principio pensamos que quizá quería disculparse, pero lo que sucedió fue aún más curioso y humano: nos regaló unas auyamas en señal de agradecimiento. Nos explicó, entre risas y con algo de pena, que una avispa se le había metido por la camisa y por eso había maniobrado de manera tan brusca. Con gratitud nos dijo que mi esposo había sido un verdadero caballero al volante, porque otro conductor quizá le habría gritado o reaccionado con enojo. Ese gesto sencillo nos recordó que la vida está llena de pequeños tropiezos, pero también de oportunidades para actuar con paciencia y bondad.
Por cosas como estas uno entiende que siempre hay que salir de casa con una actitud positiva. Las dificultades aparecen en el camino, pero la manera en que las enfrentamos puede transformar un mal rato en una experiencia que nos deja una sonrisa y hasta un regalo inesperado.
After that anecdote, we continued our journey, enjoying the vibrant landscapes that lined the road. Finally, we arrived at the airport, where they were waiting for us for the meeting.
Después de esa anécdota, seguimos nuestro recorrido disfrutando de los paisajes vibrantes que acompañaban la carretera. Finalmente llegamos al aeropuerto, donde nos esperaban para la reunión.
It was a productive meeting; both parties sought to reach a fair and beneficial agreement, and although negotiations always require patience and clarity, I was very satisfied with the outcome. Beyond the contract itself, I was left with the feeling of having experienced a full day, full of lessons learned and moments worth remembering.
Dear friends, that's how my Thursday went. A day that began with work expectations and ended with gratitude, beautiful landscapes, and the certainty that every day brings stories worth telling. I am happy with the journey and the activity, and I hope that you too find reasons to smile and feel satisfied in your days.
Fue un encuentro productivo; ambas partes buscábamos llegar a un acuerdo justo y beneficioso, y aunque las negociaciones siempre requieren paciencia y claridad, quedé muy satisfecha con el resultado. Más allá del contrato en sí, me quedó la sensación de haber vivido un día completo, lleno de aprendizajes y momentos que merecen ser recordados.

Un día que comenzó con expectativas laborales y terminó con gratitud, paisajes hermosos y la certeza de que cada jornada trae consigo historias que vale la pena contar.
