Fridays always have a special charm. They’re the days we look forward to because they gently remind us that a well-deserved break is just around the corner. This week, in particular, work has been especially demanding for me—piled-up commitments, tasks that seemed to multiply, and responsibilities that demanded my full attention. That’s why, as this Friday approaches, all I can think about is resting, recharging my batteries, and giving myself a much-needed break. I sincerely hope you can do the same—that you find a moment to disconnect and enjoy yourselves. I wish you a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend.
My week got off to a whirlwind start. From hunting down parts to finish some pending projects, to organizing documents and paying taxes that couldn’t wait. It was as if every day brought a new list of things to tackle. And even though sometimes you’d like to stop time, the truth is that life marches on at its own pace, and it’s up to us to keep up with it in the best possible spirit.
Thursday, for example, was one of those days I don’t really like. I had to start updating some important company information to keep the necessary permits active for the work we do. These procedures, though essential, tend to be a bit of a hassle. They make you go back and forth to an office two or three times for a stamp, a signature, or a simple copy. But it’s something I have to do once a year, so I just had to accept it with patience.
With that determined spirit, my husband and I set out early in the morning. The weather was wonderful; the sun was shining brightly, but a cool breeze swept through the streets and made everything more bearable. The urban and natural landscapes looked especially beautiful, as if the day wanted to make up for the errands that awaited us. I took the opportunity to snap a few photos with my camera, trying to capture those little moments that, though simple, fill the soul.
Los viernes siempre tienen un encanto especial. Son esos días que esperamos con ansias porque anuncian, sube y amablemente, que el merecido descanso está a la vuelta de la esquina. Esta semana, en particular, el trabajo ha sido especialmente fuerte para mí; compromisos acumulados, tareas que parecían multiplicarse y responsabilidades que exigían toda mi atención. Por eso, mientras llega este viernes, solo pienso en descansar, recuperar energías y regalarme un respiro necesario. Espero sinceramente que ustedes también puedan hacerlo, que encuentren un momento para desconectarse y disfrutar. Les deseo un feliz viernes y un excelente fin de semana.
Mi semana comenzó con todo. Desde la búsqueda de piezas para completar unos trabajos pendientes, hasta la organización de documentos y el pago de impuestos que no podían esperar. Era como si cada día trajera una lista nueva de cosas por resolver. Y aunque a veces uno quisiera detener el tiempo, lo cierto es que la vida sigue su ritmo, y a nosotros nos toca acompañarlo con la mejor actitud posible.
El jueves, por ejemplo, fue uno de esos días que no me gustan mucho. Tenía que comenzar a actualizar una información importante de la compañía para mantener activos los permisos necesarios para el trabajo que realizamos. Estos trámites, aunque indispensables, suelen ser un poco pesados. Te hacen ir dos y tres veces a una oficina por un cuño, una firma o una simple copia. Pero es algo que debo hacer una vez al año, así que no quedaba más que asumirlo con paciencia.
Con ese ánimo decidido, salimos mi esposo y yo temprano en la mañana. El clima estaba estupendo; el sol brillaba con fuerza, pero una brisa fresca recorría las calles y hacía todo más llevadero. Los paisajes urbanos y naturales se veían especialmente hermosos, como si el día quisiera compensarnos por las diligencias que nos esperaban. Aproveché para hacer algunas tomas con mi lente, intentando inmortalizar esos pequeños momentos que, aunque simples, llenan el alma.
Our first task of the day was to carry out our work routine at Costa Azul. Everything went smoothly, which allowed us to continue on to city hall and begin the process of renewing our permits.
Nuestra primera tarea del día fue cumplir con nuestra rutina de trabajo en Costa Azul. Todo fluyó satisfactoriamente, lo que nos dio paso para continuar nuestro recorrido hacia la alcaldía de la ciudad y comenzar con la renovación de los permisos.
When we arrived at the Mariño City Hall, we were greeted very warmly. However, as is often the case, we soon found ourselves going from office to office—a signature here, a copy there, another instruction further down the line. In the middle of the process, we were told that we had to take a copy to Pampatar to speed up the process. Without a second thought, we headed there, since we had set aside the entire day for these errands.
Al llegar a la alcaldía de Mariño, nos recibieron con mucha amabilidad. Sin embargo, como suele suceder, pronto comenzamos a rodar de oficina en oficina; una firma aquí, una copia allá, una indicación más adelante. En medio del proceso, nos informaron que debíamos llevar una copia a Pampatar para agilizar el trámite. Sin pensarlo dos veces, hacia allá nos dirigimos, ya que habíamos dispuesto el día completo para estas gestiones.
Pampatar never ceases to amaze us. Its views, its people, and its natural and urban landscapes possess a unique beauty that never goes unnoticed. As we made our way through, I felt that, despite our fatigue, it was well worth exploring these places that so vividly reflect the identity of this beautiful island.
We handed in the copy, took care of what needed to be done, and finally set off for home. We were a little exhausted—because if anything is truly tiring, it’s dealing with paperwork—but we also felt the satisfaction of having gotten everything done.
Pampatar siempre nos sorprende. Sus vistas, su gente, sus paisajes naturales y urbanos tienen una belleza particular que nunca pasa desapercibida. Mientras avanzábamos, sentí que, a pesar del cansancio, valía la pena recorrer estos lugares que tanto hablan de la identidad de esta hermosa isla.
Entregamos la copia, resolvimos lo necesario y finalmente emprendimos el regreso a casa. Estábamos un poco agotados, porque si algo cansa de verdad es hacer trámites, pero también sentíamos la satisfacción de haber cumplido con todo.
