[ENG/ESP] A Thursday among palm trees and routines that brighten the day
I hope you all have a happy Friday. The weekend is already here, and while many are enjoying their days off and feel like their vacation is slipping through their fingers, the rest of us are still putting in our workdays, grateful that a well-deserved break always comes at the end of the day.
Today I want to tell you about my workday this past Thursday—a busy day, full of sunshine, music, and that vibrant energy you feel when the island is packed with tourists. The festive atmosphere was noticeable from early on: the streets were busier, shops opened earlier than usual, and there was that cheerful buzz that only Margarita knows how to provide.
Our work routine took us this time to the Sunsol Isla Caribe hotel, located on the beautiful El Tirano beach. As always, we got up early to take advantage of the lighter traffic at that hour and arrive without any hitches. The weather this week has been wonderful; clear skies, a gentle breeze, and a strong, radiant sun that invites you to take photos at every turn. Thanks to that, I’ve been able to capture beautiful images—the kind you save not only on your phone but also in your memory.

Ya comienza el fin de semana y, mientras muchos disfrutan sus días de descanso y sienten que las vacaciones se les escapan entre los dedos, otros seguimos cumpliendo con nuestras jornadas laborales, agradeciendo que al final del día siempre llega un merecido respiro.
Hoy quiero contarles cómo fue mi día de trabajo este jueves que recién terminó, un día movido, lleno de sol, de música y de esa energía vibrante que se siente cuando la isla está repleta de turistas. Desde temprano se notaba el ambiente festivo; las calles más concurridas, los comercios abiertos desde antes de lo habitual y ese murmullo alegre que solo Margarita sabe regalar.
Nuestra rutina de trabajo nos llevaría esta vez al hotel Sunsol Isla Caribe, ubicado en la hermosa playa El Tirano. Como siempre, nos levantamos temprano para aprovechar que el tráfico a esa hora es más calmado y así poder llegar sin contratiempos. El clima esta semana ha sido una maravilla; cielos despejados, brisa un tanto suave y un sol fuerte y radiante que invita a tomar fotos en cada esquina. Gracias a eso he podido capturar imágenes hermosas, de esas que uno guarda no solo en el teléfono, sino también en la memoria.
These days, the locals bring out their speakers and fill the air with traditional music from Margarita: galerón, polo, jota… an outpouring of joy that can be felt on every street. It’s impossible not to get caught up in that festive spirit. However, as tempting as it is to stop and listen, we can’t—because duty always calls. So we take the main street of El Salado, which connects us to the Carbón Road, a less-traveled route little known to tourists, but perfect for a peaceful drive.
En estos días, los locales sacan sus bocinas y llenan el ambiente con música tradicional margariteña: galerón, polo, jota… un derroche de alegría que se siente en cada calle. Es imposible no contagiarse de ese espíritu festivo. Sin embargo, por más tentador que sea detenerse a escuchar,no se puede porque la responsabilidad siempre llama. Así que tomamos la calle principal de El Salado, que nos conecta con la vía del Carbón, un camino menos transitado y poco conocido por los turistas, pero perfecto para viajar con tranquilidad.
Upon arriving at the Sunsol Isla Caribe Hotel, we got down to our task for the day: backwashing the large-bottle filling plant and measuring the residual chlorine in tank number 3. It’s a technical, detailed job that requires attention to detail and precision. After completing the routine, we checked the readings and made sure everything was in order before leaving.
Al llegar al hotel Sunsol Isla Caribe, nos enfocamos en nuestra labor del día; realizar el retrolavado de la planta de llenado de botellones y medir el cloro residual en el tanque número 3. Es un trabajo técnico, detallado, que requiere atención y precisión. Después de completar la rutina, verificar los valores y asegurarnos de que todo estuviera en orden, antes de retirarnos.
But there’s one thing I always enjoy when I visit this hotel: its proximity to the beach. Having the ocean right in front of you is a privilege that never goes unnoticed. Whenever we can, we take a few minutes to walk along the shore and appreciate the beauty of the place.
Pero hay algo que siempre disfruto cuando visito este hotel; su cercanía con la playa. Tener el mar justo al frente es un privilegio que nunca pasa desapercibido. Siempre que podemos, nos regalamos unos minutos para caminar por la orilla y apreciar la belleza del lugar.
It’s impossible not to pause and admire the contrasting shades of blue in the sea and sky, the way they blend together on the horizon to create a landscape that looks as if it were hand-painted. The palm trees stand tall and beautiful, the fishing boats rest on the sand after a day’s work, and the entire setting exudes a sense of peace that only nature can offer.
Es imposible no detenerse a contemplar los contrastes de azules del mar y del cielo, cómo se funden en el horizonte creando un paisaje que parece pintado a mano. Las palmeras se ven erguidas y hermosas, los botes de pescadores descansan sobre la arena después de la faena, y todo el entorno transmite una paz que solo la naturaleza puede ofrecer.
These are the sights we enjoy every time we come to work at the hotel, which is why we always take a few moments to stroll along the beach. Today our walk was short, but just as beautiful. It’s very rewarding for us, after finishing our tasks, to let the sea breeze caress us and the sun shower us with a little of its warmth as we gaze out at the sea, completely relaxed.
Estas son las imágenes que disfrutamos cada vez que venimos a trabajar al hotel, y por eso siempre nos tomamos un pequeño tiempo para recorrer la playa. Hoy nuestro paseo fue corto, pero igual de hermoso. Es muy gratificante para nosotros después de terminar nuestras tareas, dejar que la brisa del mar nos acariciara y el sol nos regalara un poco de su calidez mientras miramos el mar muy relajados.
