I wish you all a wonderful, relaxing, and deeply restorative Sunday. Today I’ve decided to take a break, slow down a bit, and spend time with my family—which is always just as important as any work responsibility. After a busy week, these moments of calm feel really good, and that’s why I want to share with you how our last day of work went—the Saturday that just ended and that, as always, left us with new experiences and lessons learned.
Since we had to work again at the Sunsol Ecoland hotel, which is a bit far away, we got up early to make the most of the day. This time, our task was to seal the second filter at the desalination plant—a job that has become a weekly routine. Every Saturday we work on a different filter, and we’ll continue this way until we’ve completed the entire set. It’s a long, meticulous process that requires a lot of dedication, but we know it’s essential to ensure the proper functioning of the hotel’s water system.
Incredibly, this Saturday dawned with a bit of a cool breeze. Although the sun was shining brightly, that breeze made the day feel lighter and more pleasant, as if the island wanted to treat us to milder weather to accompany our work.

The first thing we had to do was recruit the staff who would be working with us, and that took us all over much of the municipality of Maneiro.

With everyone already in the van, we set off for the municipality of Gómez, which never fails to amaze us with its urban and natural landscapes, full of life and color.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we headed straight to the desalination plant, where the filter we needed to seal was located. To do this properly, we first prepared the putty that seals the cover before applying the fiberglass. This work was carried out by two members of our team who specialize in working with fiberglass. They laid down the fiberglass sheets, applied the appropriate chemical, and used rollers to ensure everything adhered perfectly. It’s a demanding process, and the odor is often toxic to many people; in my case, it triggers my allergies, so I took my antihistamines as soon as I left home to avoid complications.
Sealing the filter is done with great precision and in several layers, because it must be completely airtight and free of even a single air bubble. These filters will be subjected to high pressures, and any imperfection could compromise their performance. When we finished the job, it turned out excellent. Now all that’s left is to activate it, but that’s scheduled for Wednesday, since the fiber needs time to dry and harden. Depending on the humidity, this process can be faster or slower, so it’s always best to give it time.

With the work completed, we took the opportunity to tour some areas of the hotel and check other filters. Finally, we left feeling very satisfied, with the peace of mind that comes from a job well done and also with the joy of knowing that, from that moment on, our well-deserved rest was about to begin.

I hope you all have a happy Sunday, filled with peace and good times.
Until my next post.
Bye.
