Another day at work, and before we begin, I want to wish you all the best—may your days be filled with good moments and may every task you undertake go smoothly. My days continue to be busy, something I’m always grateful for, because that constant busyness lets us know that we’re making progress, that we’re getting things done, and that what we do is helpful to those who trust in our work.
Today I want to tell you about how this day went—it started very early, almost with the first birdsong. We had to head to the Sunsol Ecoland Hotel to carry out our routine chlorination and disinfection of the main tank, a task we perform with dedication because we know how important it is to keep the water in optimal condition. On this occasion, my husband and I set out, as we almost always do, and took Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue—a road I’ve mentioned before because I love it so much. It runs along the island’s northern coastline and has that special charm that only Margarita can offer.
Otro día más de trabajo, y antes de comenzar quiero desearles que les vaya muy bien, que sus jornadas estén llenas de buenos momentos y que cada tarea que emprendan fluya con tranquilidad. Mis días continúan siendo ocupados, algo que siempre agradezco, porque esa ocupación constante nos deja saber que estamos avanzando, que estamos cumpliendo y que lo que hacemos está siendo útil para quienes confían en nuestro trabajo.
Hoy quiero contarles cómo transcurrió este día que comenzó muy temprano, casi con el primer canto de los pájaros. Teníamos que dirigirnos al hotel Sunsol Ecoland para realizar nuestra rutina de clorado y desinfección del tanque principal, una labor que hacemos con dedicación porque sabemos lo importante que es mantener el agua en óptimas condiciones. En esta ocasión salimos mi esposo y yo, como casi siempre, y tomamos la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez, una vía que ya les he mencionado antes por lo mucho que me gusta. Bordea el litoral norte de la Isla y tiene ese encanto particular que solo Margarita sabe regalar.
The tourists have already started to leave, so the avenue feels more comfortable to walk along. The weather was beautiful, with that soft glow the sun casts when it’s just beginning to rise, and the scenery… what can I say?
Los turistas ya se han ido retirando, así que la avenida se siente más cómoda para transitar. El clima estaba hermoso, con ese brillo suave que deja el sol cuando apenas comienza a elevarse, y los paisajes… qué les puedo decir.
Every time I pass by there, I feel like I’m breathing different air—fresher, freer. The ocean views are so beautiful that at times I forget this is a work trip. That’s just how things are in Margarita; even responsibilities feel lighter when nature is by your side.
Cada vez que paso por allí siento que respiro un aire distinto, más fresco, más libre. Las vistas al mar son tan hermosas que por momentos se me olvida que este recorrido es de trabajo. Así son las cosas en Margarita; incluso las responsabilidades se vuelven más ligeras cuando la naturaleza te acompaña.
On our way, we passed by the Hesperia Margarita, one of the island’s most iconic hotels. It was Margarita’s first five-star hotel, and even though we were just driving down the avenue on our way to work, its architecture and history never fail to impress. Later on, I’ll show you a view from the Ecoland Hotel where you can see it even better.
En nuestro trayecto pasamos frente al Hesperia Margarita, uno de los hoteles emblemáticos de la isla. Fue el primer hotel cinco estrellas de Margarita, y aunque solo pasamos por la avenida porque íbamos directo a trabajar, siempre impone con su estructura y su historia. Más adelante les mostraré una vista desde el hotel Ecoland donde se aprecia aún mejor.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by Carel, who is always willing to go up into the tank with us. Her willingness, kindness, and smile make the work more bearable. We went up into the main tank together to perform the chlorination and disinfection routine. As we worked, the weather continued to be on our side with a gentle breeze that made the moment more pleasant.
Al llegar al hotel fuimos recibidos por Carel, quien siempre está dispuesta a subir con nosotros al tanque. Su disposición, su amabilidad y su sonrisa hacen que el trabajo sea más llevadero. Subimos juntos al tanque principal para realizar la rutina de clorado y desinfección. Mientras trabajábamos, el clima seguía acompañándonos con una brisa suave que hacía el momento más agradable.
When I was done, as always, I took some photos of the beautiful surroundings. From that high vantage point, I captured a shot of the Hesperia Margarita Hotel, which I mentioned earlier. It’s amazing how you can see part of the coastline from there and how the daylight brings out every detail of the landscape.
Al terminar, como siempre, tomé algunas fotos del bello entorno que nos rodea. Desde ese punto elevado capturé una imagen del hotel Hesperia Margarita, del cual les comenté antes. Es impresionante cómo desde allí se puede ver parte del litoral y cómo la luz del día realza cada detalle del paisaje.
We got off the tank, took a quick tour of the hotel to make sure everything was in order, and then left, since we still had a long way to go to get back home. That’s how our workday went, under the beautiful weather that is so characteristic of Margarita and that always gives us a sense of peace.
Bajamos del tanque, dimos un recorrido corto por el hotel para verificar que todo estuviera en orden y luego nos retiramos, porque aún nos quedaba camino por recorrer para volver a casa. Así transcurrió nuestro día de trabajo, bajo este hermoso clima que tanto caracteriza a Margarita y que siempre nos regala una sensación de paz.
