[ENG/ESP] A Friday when even a gray day can be beautiful.
Hello, dear friends at dailyblog! I hope you have a wonderful Saturday, filled with peace and those little moments that brighten your day. As I mentioned before, I have to work today, though it will be a pretty light day since I only have one appointment left. That means, all things considered, I’ll have a short and manageable Saturday, which is always a relief after a hectic week.
But before starting this new day, I want to tell you how my Friday went. Although it dawned cloudy and with that feeling that a downpour could come at any moment, it ended up being a very productive day. We had scheduled our chlorination service at the Sunsol Ecoland hotel, so my husband and I left home early to take our time and avoid any setbacks.
As we almost always do, we took Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue. You already know how much we love that route; it’s direct, comfortable, and also offers us beautiful views of the coastline. Although the sky was gray, from the top of the road, you could see Manzanillo Bay bustling with life. The fishermen came and went about their daily tasks, some returning with the fruits of their labor and others just beginning their day. That scene, so ordinary and so island-like, has a special charm that always inspires me, even on the gloomiest days.
Hola queridos amigos de dailyblog, les deseo un sábado maravilloso, lleno de calma y de esos pequeños momentos que alegran el día. Como les comenté anteriormente, hoy me toca trabajar, aunque será un día bastante ligero porque solo tengo un servicio pendiente. Eso significa que, dentro de todo, tendré un sábado corto y manejable, lo cual siempre se agradece después de una semana movida.
Pero antes de comenzar este nuevo día, quiero contarles cómo transcurrió mi viernes, que aunque amaneció nublado y con ese aire de que en cualquier momento se venía un aguacero, terminó siendo un día muy productivo. Teníamos programado realizar nuestro clorado en el hotel Sunsol Ecoland, así que desde temprano mi esposo y yo salimos de casa para ir con calma y evitar contratiempos.
Tomamos, como casi siempre, la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez. Ya ustedes saben cuánto nos gusta ese recorrido; es directo, cómodo y además nos regala unas vistas hermosas del litoral costero. Aunque el cielo estaba gris, desde lo alto del camino se veía la Bahía de Manzanillo con vida propia. Los pescadores iban y venían en sus faenas diarias, algunos regresando con el fruto de su trabajo y otros apenas comenzando su jornada. Esa escena, tan cotidiana y tan isleña, tiene un encanto especial que siempre me inspira, incluso en los días más apagados.
We stopped at a few spots along the way because, even though the landscape was shrouded in shades of gray, it had a unique beauty. The clouds settled over the hills as if embracing them, and in the distance, whimsical shapes formed, making the journey feel almost magical. It’s amazing how even a cloudy day can be filled with details that lift the spirit if you take the time to look.
Nos detuvimos en algunos puntos de la vía porque, aunque el paisaje estaba envuelto en tonos grises, tenía una belleza particular. Las nubes se posaban sobre los cerros como si los abrazaran, y a lo lejos se formaban figuras caprichosas que hacían que el trayecto se sintiera casi mágico. Es increíble cómo incluso un día nublado puede llenarse de detalles que alegran el alma si uno se toma el tiempo de observar.
We arrived at the Ecoland Hotel completely dry, because in the end not a single drop fell along the way. Even the sun, shy but present, made an attempt to peek through the clouds to warm things up a bit. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly and cheerful Aura from the quality department, who always welcomes us with positive energy.
She went up with us to the main tank to perform the chlorination and disinfection routine, and as always, we waited patiently for the readings to stabilize within the permissible ranges.
Llegamos al hotel Ecoland completamente secos, porque al final ni una sola gota cayó durante el camino. Incluso el sol, tímido pero presente, hizo el intento de asomarse entre las nubes para calentar un poco el ambiente. Al llegar, nos recibió la simpática y risueña Aura, del departamento de calidad, quien siempre nos recibe con buena energía.
Subió con nosotros al tanque principal para realizar la rutina de clorado y desinfección, y como siempre esperamos pacientemente a que los valores se estabilizaran dentro de los rangos permisibles.
Once the work was done, I took the opportunity to snap a few photos. You know I can’t resist; even gray days have their charm, and seeing the landscape from the top of the tank always adds a special touch. Then we went back down, stopped by the laundry station to make sure everything was in order, and finally headed home with the satisfaction of a job well done.
Una vez concluido el trabajo, aproveché para tomar algunas fotografías. Ya saben que no puedo resistirme; hasta los días grises tienen su encanto, y ver el paisaje desde lo alto del tanque siempre añade un toque especial. Después bajamos, pasamos por el filtro de lavandería para verificar que todo estuviera en orden, y finalmente nos retiramos con la satisfacción del deber cumplido.
The trip back was also filled with beautiful images—the kind that stay etched in your memory. Sometimes unpredictable days, like this Friday, end up being the most special because they force us to look more closely, to discover beauty where others see only clouds.
That’s how our workday on Friday went—amidst shades of gray, intriguing landscapes, and the peace of mind that comes from having done our job.

El regreso también estuvo lleno de imágenes hermosas, de esas que se quedan grabadas en la memoria. A veces los días caprichosos, como este viernes, terminan siendo los más especiales porque nos obligan a mirar con más atención, a descubrir belleza donde otros solo ven nubes.
Así transcurrió nuestro viernes de trabajo, entre tonos grises, paisajes curiosos y la tranquilidad de haber cumplido con nuestra labor.
