[ENG/ESP] A Friday filled with work and errands

Greetings, dear friends. I wish you a wonderful Saturday, filled with peace and relaxation, even though this day has taken an unexpected turn for us. Yesterday, just as we were returning from work and thinking the weekend would be a time to rest, we received a call informing us that we would have to work today, Saturday, as well. So in my next post, I’ll tell you in detail how things went on this day, which promises to be quite busy and demanding.
But I want to pause for a moment on Friday, because it was a special day when, in addition to fulfilling our work routine, we managed to resolve several pending tasks that had piled up. The sunrise treated us to a clear, bright sky, as if nature itself were telling us, “Your well-deserved rest will come soon.” With that glow accompanying the morning, I couldn’t resist capturing a few moments with my camera—small fragments of that beauty that I always love to share with you.

Saludos queridos amigos, les deseo un sábado radiante, lleno de calma y descanso, aunque para nosotros este día se presenta con un giro inesperado. Ayer, justo cuando regresábamos de trabajar y pensábamos que el fin de semana sería de reposo, recibimos la llamada que nos anunciaba que hoy sábado también tendríamos que trabajar. Así que en mi próxima publicación les contaré con detalle cómo nos fue en esta jornada que promete ser bastante ocupada y exigente.
Pero quiero detenerme un poco en el viernes, porque fue un día especial en el que, además de cumplir con nuestra rutina laboral, logramos resolver varios pendientes que teníamos acumulados. El amanecer nos regaló un cielo claro y luminoso, como si la naturaleza misma nos estuviera diciendo: “ya pronto llegará el descanso merecido”. Con ese brillo que acompañaba la mañana, no pude resistirme a capturar algunos instantes con mi cámara, pequeños fragmentos de esa belleza que siempre me gusta compartir con ustedes.

Our first stop was at the Sunsol Unik Hotel, where we carried out our usual work routine. We measured the parameters, added chlorine, and checked that everything was at the ideal levels. That first task, though technical and repetitive, always gives us the satisfaction of knowing that we’ve fulfilled our responsibilities.

Nuestra primera parada fue en el hotel Sunsol Unik, donde realizamos la rutina habitual de trabajo. Medimos los parámetros, cloramos y verificamos que todo estuviera en los niveles ideales. Esa primera tarea, aunque técnica y repetitiva, nos da siempre la satisfacción de saber que cumplimos con responsabilidad.

Once we were done, we headed to the Parque Costa Azul shopping center to submit the invoices for the work we had done. It was a quick, hassle-free process, and within a few minutes we were ready to move on to the rest of our errands.

Una vez terminada, nos dirigimos al centro comercial Parque Costa Azul para entregar las facturas correspondientes al trabajo realizado. Fue un trámite rápido, sin complicaciones, y en pocos minutos ya estábamos listos para continuar con el resto de diligencias.

Our next stop took us into town, as we had a pressing concern: we needed to find an incandescent light bulb. It might seem like a simple task, but these days they’re not so easy to come by. That bulb is essential for our incubator, which is currently carefully holding several eggs. Not having a spare bulb worried us, because if the bulb were to break, the chicks could be ruined. So we set out on our search with patience, visiting several stores until finally, in one of them, we found it. It was a huge relief, and with that peace of mind, we were able to continue on our way.

El siguiente destino nos llevó a la ciudad, pues teníamos una preocupación importante; necesitábamos conseguir un bombillo incandescente. Puede parecer algo sencillo, pero en estos tiempos no es tan fácil encontrarlos. Ese bombillo es esencial para nuestra incubadora, que en este momento guarda con cuidado varios huevos. No tener un repuesto nos generaba inquietud, porque si el bombillo llegaba a dañarse, los pollitos podrían malograrse. Así que emprendimos la búsqueda con paciencia, recorriendo varias tiendas hasta que finalmente, en una de ellas, lo encontramos. Fue un alivio enorme, y con esa tranquilidad pudimos continuar nuestro camino.

With that task out of the way, all we needed was a screw for the repair my husband is doing on the car. We knew exactly where to go: the “1,000 Screws and 1,000 Tires” store, a place that never lets us down because it always has every kind of part and spare. As we expected, we found what we needed there, and with that, we were done with our errands.

Ya con esa tarea cumplida, solo nos faltaba conseguir un tornillo para el arreglo que mi esposo está haciendo en el auto. Sabíamos exactamente dónde ir; la tienda 1000 tornillos y 1000 gomas, un lugar que nunca nos falla porque siempre tiene todo tipo de piezas y repuestos. Como esperábamos, allí encontramos lo que necesitábamos y con eso dimos por terminadas nuestras diligencias.

The trip home was peaceful, filled with the satisfaction of having taken care of both work and personal matters. However, upon arriving, we received a call reminding us that Saturday wouldn’t be a day of rest, but rather another day of work. That news changed our plans, but it also reaffirmed the importance of being prepared and maintaining a positive attitude in the face of the unexpected.
That’s how our Friday went—between work, errands, and small moments of reflection. It was a day that taught us that, even though routine may seem repetitive, there’s always room to enjoy the simple moments that life gives us.

El regreso a casa fue sereno, con la satisfacción de haber cumplido tanto con el trabajo como con los pendientes personales. Sin embargo, al llegar recibimos la llamada que nos recordaba que el sábado no sería de descanso, sino de más trabajo. Esa noticia nos cambió los planes, pero también nos reafirmó la importancia de estar preparados y de mantener la actitud positiva frente a los imprevistos.
Así transcurrió nuestro viernes; entre labores, diligencias y pequeños momentos de contemplación. Fue un día que nos enseñó que, aunque la rutina pueda parecer repetitiva, siempre hay espacio para disfrutar de los instantes sencillos que nos regala la vida.
