[ENG/ESP] A Friday filled with clouds, the sea, and a job well done
Enjoying the weekend is a well-deserved respite for those of us who work hard all week long—a little gift that reminds us we, too, deserve breaks, moments to catch our breath, and time to spend with those we love. That’s why I plan to enjoy this weekend to the fullest, indulge in my well-deserved rest, and make the most of it with my family, who are always my greatest joy.
But before diving into that long-awaited rest, today I want to share with you how my workweek went and how our Friday ended—a day that, though more relaxed than the previous ones, was filled with those little details that give each day its own charm.
This Friday was, without a doubt, the quietest day of the week in terms of workload, but it was still a responsible, efficient, and well-spent day. On Thursday, we had been busy handling an emergency at the Unik Hotel, which forced us to postpone the chlorination of the main tank at the Sunsol Ecoland Hotel until this Friday—a routine we perform every week and that, at times, we must repeat more than once depending on the hotel’s needs.
My husband and I left early, as we usually do, taking the coastal route along Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue. I’ve told you before how much I enjoy this route; its scenery is a constant gift, a natural painting that changes every day with the hues of the sea and the sky.
Disfrutar del fin de semana es un alivio merecido para quienes trabajamos arduamente durante toda la semana, un pequeño regalo que nos recuerda que también merecemos pausas, respiros y momentos para compartir con quienes amamos. Por eso, este fin de semana pienso disfrutarlo plenamente, entregarme a mi merecido descanso y aprovecharlo junto a mi familia, que siempre es mi mayor alegría.
Pero antes de entrar en ese descanso tan esperado, hoy quiero compartirles cómo fue mi recorrido de trabajo y cómo culminó nuestro viernes, un día que, aunque más relajado que los anteriores, estuvo lleno de esos pequeños detalles que hacen que cada jornada tenga su propio encanto.
Este viernes fue, sin duda, el día más tranquilo de la semana en cuanto a carga laboral, pero aún así fue un día responsable, eficiente y bien aprovechado. El jueves habíamos estado ocupados atendiendo una emergencia en el Hotel Unik, lo que nos obligó a posponer para este viernes el clorado del tanque principal del hotel Sunsol Ecoland, una rutina que realizamos cada semana y que, en ocasiones, debemos repetir más de una vez dependiendo de las necesidades del hotel.
Salimos temprano, como solemos hacerlo, mi esposo y yo, tomando el litoral costero por la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez. Ya les he contado antes lo mucho que disfruto esta ruta; sus paisajes son un regalo constante, un cuadro natural que cambia cada día con las tonalidades del mar y del cielo.
On this occasion, the sky was overcast, filled with clouds that looked like soft brushstrokes, and that contrast with the deep blue of the sea made the entire journey feel special.
En esta ocasión, el cielo estaba empedrado, lleno de nubes que parecían pinceladas suaves, y ese contraste con el azul profundo del mar hacía que todo el recorrido se sintiera especial.
During one of our stops to take in the scenery, we paused at a spot where I could see the fishing village of Guayacán del Norte from the top of a cliff. I must admit that I had never had the chance to see Guayacán from that angle before, and the view took me by surprise. It was like discovering a familiar place, but from a completely new perspective—one that was more intimate and more beautiful.
En una de nuestras paradas para apreciar el paisaje, nos detuvimos en un punto desde donde pude ver el pueblo pesquero de Guayacán del Norte desde lo alto de un risco. Les confieso que jamás había tenido la oportunidad de observar Guayacán desde ese ángulo, y la vista me sorprendió. Era como descubrir un lugar conocido, pero desde una perspectiva completamente nueva, más íntima y más hermosa.
We continued on our way, enjoying the ever-changing scenery that the island’s coastline always offers us, until we reached the Sunsol Ecoland hotel. There, we were greeted by Carel from the quality control department, who accompanied us up to the main tank while we carried out our disinfection routine and measured the residual chlorine levels. Everything went smoothly; the readings were within the correct ranges, which always gives us a sense of peace of mind and a job well done.
Continuamos nuestro camino, disfrutando de esos paisajes caprichosos que el litoral de la Isla siempre nos regala, hasta llegar al hotel Sunsol Ecoland. Allí fuimos recibidos por Carel, del departamento de calidad, quien subió con nosotros al tanque principal mientras realizábamos nuestra rutina de desinfección y la medición del cloro residual. Todo salió satisfactoriamente; los valores dieron dentro de los rangos correctos, lo que siempre nos deja una sensación de tranquilidad y deber cumplido.
When I was done, I looked up and noticed something that never fails to amaze me; from that spot on the main tank, you can see both part of the beach and part of the lagoon at the same time. It’s a privileged view, a combination of landscapes that’s only visible from up there, and every time I look at it, I feel deeply happy.
As we climbed down from the tank, satisfied that we had completed our work, we set out to return home. We were happy, chatting, letting the day end with that sense of peace that only a job well done and the beauty of the journey taken can provide.
Al terminar, levanté la mirada y pude apreciar algo que siempre me maravilla; desde ese punto del tanque principal se puede ver, al mismo tiempo, parte de la playa y parte de la laguna. Es una vista privilegiada, una combinación de paisajes que solo se revela desde allí arriba, y cada vez que la observo me siento profundamente dichosa.
Al bajar del tanque, con la satisfacción de haber cumplido con nuestro trabajo, nos dispusimos a regresar a casa. Íbamos contentos, conversando, dejando que el día terminara con esa sensación de paz que solo da el deber cumplido y la belleza del camino recorrido.
