[ENG/ESP] A busy Friday that ended on a high note with some great plans
Greetings. Today I’m going to enjoy a well-deserved rest—the kind you feel you’ve truly earned with every fiber of your being—and I sincerely hope you can treat yourselves to a moment of calm as well. I wish you a wonderful day, filled with little joys and those breaks that do us so much good.
Among the things I want to do this weekend is find a gift for my husband, my life partner, whose birthday is coming up soon. I want that day to be special, for him to feel how much I value him and how grateful I am that we walk together through every day, every challenge, and every sunrise. That’s why I tried this Friday to leave no work undone and to avoid any unexpected events that might disrupt my plans.
This past Friday took us back to the Unik hotel to carry out our work routine. Everything seemed to be going as usual, but just as we were arriving, we received a call from Sunsol Ecoland; they were having issues with one of the filters. It could have been left for the next day, but since I already had plans for my weekend, I told them that, once I finished my routine at the Unik, I would go check on the situation.
Luckily, the weather was great—one of those clear days that lift your spirits and make any trip feel lighter. So, with the enthusiasm that always drives us, we carried out the tank chlorination and disinfection routine and checked the levels.
Saludos. Hoy disfrutaré de un merecido descanso, uno de esos que se sienten ganados con el alma y el cuerpo, y espero sinceramente que ustedes también puedan regalarse un momento de calma. Les deseo un día maravilloso, lleno de pequeñas alegrías y de esas pausas que tanto bien hacen.
Entre las cosas que quiero hacer este fin de semana está buscar un regalo para mi esposo, mi compañero de vida, que pronto estará cumpliendo años. Quiero que ese día sea especial, que sienta cuánto lo valoro y lo agradecida que estoy por caminar juntos en cada jornada, en cada reto y en cada amanecer. Por eso traté este viernes de no dejar ningún trabajo pendiente y de evitar cualquier imprevisto que pudiera alterar mis planes.
Este viernes que recién culminó nos llevó nuevamente al hotel Unik para cumplir con nuestra rutina de trabajo. Todo parecía avanzar con normalidad, pero justo cuando estábamos llegando recibimos una llamada del Sunsol Ecoland; presentaban problemas con uno de los filtros. Podía dejarse para el día siguiente, pero como ya tenía planes para mi fin de semana, les comuniqué que, una vez terminada mi rutina en el Unik, iría a revisar la situación.
Por suerte el clima estaba genial, de esos días claros que animan el espíritu y hacen más ligero cualquier recorrido. Así que, con el entusiasmo que siempre nos acompaña, realizamos la rutina de cloración y desinfección del tanque, verificamos los niveles.
When we were done, we headed to the town of Gómez to address the issue with the filter.
As we passed through Santa Ana, we saw that they were working on beautifying their streets. It’s something I deeply love about that area; they’re always doing something to improve their spaces, to keep the place’s identity alive. You can feel that dedication, you can breathe it in, and it brightens the journey.
Al terminar, salimos rumbo al municipio Gómez para atender el problema del filtro.
Al pasar por Santa Ana vimos que estaban trabajando en embellecer sus calles. Es algo que amo profundamente de esa zona; siempre están haciendo algo para mejorar sus espacios, para mantener viva la identidad del lugar. Esa dedicación se siente, se respira, y alegra el camino.
When we arrived at the hotel, the quality manager greeted us and took us to the area near the kitchen, where the affected filter was located. At first glance, everything looked fine, but one of the pipes wasn’t letting any water out, which confirmed that the filter was completely clogged. It was the result of a series of events that had been overlooked during the week—something quite common, considering that the water comes from the desalination plant and often carries solids that clog the filter media.
Al llegar al hotel nos recibió el gerente de calidad y nos llevó al área cercana a la cocina, donde se encontraba el filtro afectado. A simple vista todo parecía perfecto, pero una de las tuberías no dejaba salir agua, lo que nos dio la certeza de que el filtro estaba completamente tapado. Era el resultado de una cadena de sucesos que habían pasado por alto durante la semana, algo muy normal considerando que el agua proviene de la desalinizadora y suele arrastrar sólidos que saturan la carga filtrante.
The truth is that quite a bit of accumulated debris was removed, but with patience and experience, we were able to resolve the issue that had been worrying them since early in the morning. When the water started flowing again at the right pressure and with the desired quality, we left the hotel satisfied that we had done our job.
La verdad es que se le extrajo bastante material acumulado, pero con paciencia y experiencia pudimos dar solución a la problemática que los tenía preocupados desde temprano. Cuando el agua volvió a salir con la presión adecuada y la calidad deseada, nos retiramos del hotel con la satisfacción de haber cumplido.
We headed back home through Santa Ana and Tacarigua, two areas I always enjoy driving through. I love how picturesque the place is, and how the residents take such good care to keep everything painted, clean, and tidy. They take deep pride in their town, and that’s something that truly deserves to be appreciated.
Tomamos el camino de regreso a casa atravesando Santa Ana y Tacarigua, dos zonas que siempre disfruto recorrer. Me encanta lo pintoresco del lugar, cómo sus habitantes se ocupan de mantener todo pintado, limpio y arreglado. Sienten un orgullo profundo por su municipio, y es algo que realmente merece ser valorado.
Between beautiful walks and the sense of a job well done, we wrapped up a week that was a bit intense. Our coworker was sick, so my husband and I had to take on all the responsibilities. Even so, I’m grateful to have the health and strength to get every task done.

Entre caminos hermosos y la sensación del deber cumplido, cerramos una semana que fue un poco intensa. Nuestro compañero de trabajo estuvo enfermo y mi esposo y yo tuvimos que asumir todos los compromisos. Aun así, agradezco tener salud y fuerza para cumplir con cada tarea.
