Daily Blog - A fun and impromptu evening plan involving wine: another memory from my time in Santiago del Estero. / Plan nocturno divertido e improvisado entre vinos: un recuerdo más de mi paso por Santiago del Estero. 😃❤️

Despite having a somewhat tight itinerary, almost planned day by day, I of course left free spaces in my schedule so spontaneity could arise. The truth was that I wanted to make the most of my trip to the city of Termas de Río Hondo in Santiago del Estero, so my idea was to enjoy the city both during the day and at night. The ride on the City Tour Bus had helped me a lot in discovering the city during the day, but I still needed to get to know a bit more of the nightlife in that part of the map ❤️.

A pesar de tener un itinerario algo ajustado y casi planificado día a día, por supuesto que dejé espacios libres en mi agenda para que surja la espontaneidad. La verdad era que quería aprovechar al máximo mi viaje a la ciudad de Termas de Río Hondo en Santiago del Estero, así que mi idea era disfrutar de la ciudad tanto de día como de noche. El paseo en el Bus del City Tour me había ayudado bastante con lo de descubrir la ciudad de día, pero aún me faltaba conocer un poco más de la noche en esa parte del mapa ❤️.

To look for somewhat improvised plans, social media is a great tool. As soon as I returned to my hotel after the tour, I took a moment to research what could be done at night in the city of Termas. That day my new friend Carina had to give a musical show at a restaurant, so she left me on my own with the nighttime plan. Most of the activities offered were dinner shows, but since my stay at the hotel already included meals, I needed a different plan.

Para buscar planes algo improvisados, las redes sociales son una gran herramienta. Ni bien regresé a mi hotel después del paseo, me tomé un momento para investigar qué se podía hacer en la noche de la ciudad de Termas. Ese día mi nueva amiga Carina tenía que dar un show musical en un restaurante, por lo que me dejó sola con el plan nocturno. La mayoría de las actividades ofrecidas eran cenas shows, pero como mi estadía en el hotel ya incluía la comida, necesitaba un plan diferente.

That’s how, while browsing Instagram, I found out about an event taking place at a small wine shop just two blocks from my accommodation. It was a wine tasting, something I hadn’t done in a long time. This was perfect for me, because it was scheduled after my dinner and it was nearby, so I didn’t hesitate for a single minute to go.

Así fue que como navegando en Instagram, me enteré de un evento que se llevaba a cabo en una pequeña tienda de vinos solo a dos cuadras de mi alojamiento. Se trataba de una degustación de vino, algo que hace mucho tiempo que no hacía. Esto fue perfecto para mí, porque el horario era después de mi cena y me quedaba cerca, así que no dudé ni un minuto en ir.

When I arrived, I found a small place but filled with bottles of drinks of all kinds, and in the back, about ten people who were there for the same reason as me. After an introduction by the owners of the place, an experienced sommelier took the floor and presented a new wine brand with three different blends of Malbec and Cabernet grapes, each in different proportions. I found this idea very original, since regular wines usually only have one of the two.

Cuando llegué, me encontré con un pequeño lugar pero lleno de botellas de bebidas de todas clases, y en el fondo, unas 10 personas que también estaban por lo mismo que yo. Después de una presentación por parte de los dueños del local, se le dio lugar a un sommelier experimentado que nos presentó una nueva marca de vino con tres blends distintos de uvas malbec y cabernet, cada uno en diferentes proporciones. Esta idea me pareció muy original, ya que los vinos regulares solo suelen tener una de ambas.

I am by no means a wine expert, but if there’s one thing I enjoy doing, it’s drinking, so there I was with my glass being emptied and refilled over and over again. The owners of the beverage shop were very generous with the tasting and even treated us to a charcuterie board with different cold cuts. It’s no coincidence that the owners chose this type of business, and they proved it when, even after the tasting of those wines had ended, they continued sharing other types of alcoholic drinks with us. Laughter was plentiful that night: I loved sharing it with everyone, and for a moment I forgot that just two hours earlier we had all been strangers.

Yo para nada soy experta en vinos, pero si hay algo que me gusta hacer es beber, así que ahí estaba yo con mi copa que se vaciaba y se llenaba a cada rato. Los dueños de la tienda de bebidas fueron muy generosos en la degustación, y hasta nos invitaron una picada con diferentes fiambres. No por nada los dueños eligieron este tipo de negocio, y lo demostraron cuando, aún habiendo finalizado la degustación de esos vinos, siguieron compartiendo con nosotros otro tipo de bebidas alcohólicas. Las risas no faltaron esa noche: me encantó compartirla con todos y por un momento se me olvidó que hace dos horas atrás éramos todos desconocidos.

This nighttime outing was the perfect complement to my stay in the city of Termas de Río Hondo. During the day, I was able to enjoy everything possible under the sun, and at night, I could relax a bit by doing something fun. While I was there, I couldn’t believe I was finally making my trip to one of the provinces I had been missing. I had been thinking about taking this trip for quite some time, and I was finally there, enjoying a fun improvised plan. One way or another, my trips always end up being more than just fun 😃.

Esta salida nocturna fue el complemento perfecto para mi estadía en la ciudad de Termas de Río Hondo. Durante el día, pude disfrutar de todo lo posible bajo el sol y en la noche, pude relajarme un poco haciendo algo divertido. Mientras estaba ahí no podía creer estar concretando al fin mi paseo a una de las provincias que me faltaba. Había estado pensando en hacer este viaje hace bastante tiempo, y finalmente ya estaba ahí y teniendo un divertido plan improvisado. Siempre de alguna forma u otra, mis viajes terminan siendo más que divertidos 😃.
