As someone who doesn't like other people in general, and because of this I always ride alone... the chance of actually getting serious problems is 10x as low when you're alone, only two wheels touching the ground instead of 20 š PLUS you don't have the risk of other group members slamming in to you so your spokes get broken š
It's true that when I do get in to trouble, I have to fix it all by myself but that's why I always carry essential gear and a spare inner tube, never say never but it will be quite unlikely I will take part in group rides š
Maybe one day some mountain biking event but then still, I will ride it alone (but with a lot of unknown other cyclists around me)
My plan B whenever I can't get my bike fixed is I always carry my debit card with me so I can walk to a nearby train station and get home by train.
Are there trains in Cuba? Without fuel they probably can't drive as well if there are any... š
I couldnāt go on this sort of trip on my own. Itās far too dangerous here⦠And no, thereās no public transport; on the road, we only saw a few flatbed lorries with containers passing by.
There are no trains. Thereās nothing here⦠This is a poor country and, on top of that, weāre on the brink of war. You can look it up on Google.
Iāve been without electricity since 2 pm yesterday and they havenāt turned it back on. I havenāt even been able to eat... That says it all. I got home that night and there was still no power. I had to snack on two tomatoes and a beetroot Iād cooked the day before, and a piece of tinned meat, and that was my dinner. Imagine how hungry I was after all that effort... š
Wow..I really feel for you and can't even begin to imagine what life is like over there.
Maybe a change of leadership wouldn't be the worst for the citizens
