A railway station that provides first impression of Lahore to many new faces and minds entering the city. Its Railway station that doesn't look like one. It seems like a fortress or a strong defensive structure.

It was 6th December 2025. We have to go back 6 months from the present day. I decided to visit Lahore Railway Junction. I have watched so many reels capturing the beauty of the railway station.

It was one of the oldest railway stations built by colonial administrators. History states that it was the one raolwatstation that was built immediately after the War of Independence 1857 or what it is called otherwise as Sepoy Mutiny. The war of independence brought hell to the people of subcontinent. The Mughal throne was thrown away. The Last Mughal King "Bahadur Shah Zafar" was sent to Burma( modern day Myanmar) to live in excile. The life of excile turned him into a sadistic poet. I would like to quote one of his famous poetry:
عمرِ دراز مانگ کے لائے تھے چار دن
دو آرزو میں کٹ گئے، دو انتظار میں
You know why it was built like a fort? It was a strategy of Colonial Masters to prevent any mutiny in the future. Moreover, the train station's location is also strategic as it is standing right at the face of walled city lahore, the one center that used to and still hub of main activities. The Walled City of Lahore summs up the history of years and turned on this history into a vibrant culture that is loved by everyone.

I roamed around the station. Sort of chaotic and bizarre to my ears, yet my eyes were curious to see the beauty being held by such places. The announcement was being run, while benches were filled with people. Some vendors were selling items that they were carrying in their hands or on their stalls.

These green rails are very rare in modern time period, I assume. As speed rails have taken over the transportation industry. But, Pakistan still maintains the treasure. The Punjab government is renovated and still renovating the old models as they believe "old is gold"

I went on stairs-bridge. Yes, it was sort of bridge over the railway from where i saw the dwelling day and the crowd of people on a railway station.
What are your thoughts?
