Motorcycle trip 🏍️ from the municipality of Cadeño in BolĂvar State to MaturĂn in Monagas State (Part 1, stopover in Puerto Ordaz)

Quiero compartirles la experiencia de mi primer viaje en motocicleta junto con mi esposo desde el municipio Cedeño estado BolĂvar hasta MaturĂn estado Monagas, el viaje fue realizado por motivos personales; mi esposo tiene una motocicleta que es nuestro medio de transporte, es la que pueden observar allĂ en la fotografĂa de portada; pero siempre la utilizábamos solo para movilizarnos acá en el pueblo, al trabajo, las diligencias personales.
Siempre bromeábamos acerca de viajar en moto pero realmente nunca pensĂ© que se llegarĂa a concretar, se llegĂł el dĂa, se presentĂł la necesidad del viaje y realmente en ruta sale bastante costoso, asĂ que, pensamos bueno tenemos la moto vamos a utilizarla! planificamos el dĂa de salida, fue el dĂa lunes de la semana pasada, nos dispusimos a salir a las 5am pensando en aprovechar el fresco del dĂa, antes que el sol calentara porque ya nos habĂamos asesorado con otras personas que han viajado hasta ciudad BolĂvar en moto que es la ciudad más cercana al pueblo donde vivimos y nos decĂan que se demoraban entre 4 y 5 horas dependiendo la velocidad con la que se viaje, aunque nos habĂan recomendado mantenernos entre 70 y 90 km/h.
A la hora de salir estaba realmente muy oscuro casi que de noche todavĂa, asĂ que, nos fuimos con mucho cuidado porque en la vĂa hay mucho ganado y es realmente peligroso que se atraviese uno y produzca un accidente como ha pasado en muchas oportunidades, otra de las limitantes es que la carretera no está en las mejores condiciones hay muchos huecos y por supuesto cuando se va a alta velocidad es muy difĂcil esquivar estos peligros y allĂ es donde ocurren los accidentes. Ya a eso de las 6:30 de la mañana comenzĂł a aclarar, ya Ăbamos con la luz del dĂa; la primera parada la hicimos en la poblaciĂłn de Maripa en un punto de referencia muy famoso el cual es el monumento a la IndĂgena Tawuana o como es conocido por los lugareños cĂłmo : Estatua de la India, una vez que pasas por este lugar te indica que ya saliste del municipio Cedeño y entraste al municipio Sucre y que estás prĂłximo a pasar el puente del rĂo Caura; allĂ nos detuvimos a fotografiar la estatua, pudimos observar que aunque hicieron algunas mejoras todavĂa no está en las condiciones iniciales donde la cascada de agua funcionaba, sin embargo tiene todavĂa muy buen aspecto luego, de fotografiar el monumento continuamos con nuestro recorrido hasta que llegamos a Guarataro que es prácticamente la mitad del camino .

I want to share with you the experience of my first motorcycle trip with my husband, from the municipality of Cedeño in BolĂvar state to MaturĂn in Monagas state. The trip was for personal reasons; my husband owns a motorcycle that is our main mode of transportation, the one you can see in the cover photo. We always used it only for getting around town, going to work, and running errands.
We always joked about traveling by motorcycle, but I never really thought it would actually happen. The day arrived, the need for the trip arose, and since traveling by road is quite expensive, we thought, well, we have the motorcycle, let's use it! We planned our departure day, which was last Monday. We set off at 5:00 AM, hoping to take advantage of the cool morning air before the sun got too hot. We had already consulted with other people who had traveled to Ciudad BolĂvar by motorcycle, the closest city to our town, and they told us the trip takes between four and five hours depending on speed, although they recommended staying between 70 and 90 km/h.
When we left, it was very dark, almost nighttime, so we drove very carefully because there's a lot of livestock on the road, and it's really dangerous if one runs across and causes an accident, as has happened many times before. Another limitation is that the road isn't in the best condition; there are many potholes, and of course, when you're traveling at high speed, it's very difficult to avoid these hazards, and that's where accidents happen. Around 6:30 AM, it started to get light, and we were traveling in daylight. Our first stop was in the town of Maripa at a very famous landmark: the monument to the Tawuana Indigenous woman, or as the locals know it, the Statue of the Indian. Passing by this landmark indicates that you have left the Cedeño municipality and entered the Sucre municipality, and that you are about to cross the Caura River bridge. We stopped there to photograph the statue. We could see that although some improvements had been made, it is not yet in its original condition when the waterfall was working. However, it still looks very good. After photographing the monument, we continued our journey until we reached Guarataro, which is practically halfway there.
Antes de llegar a Guarataro nos detuvimos a fotografiar el "caño las piedritas" que es muy conocido por su enormes lajas y piedras, realmente el agua se veĂa muy tentadora, aunque no nos decidimos a bañarnos allĂ descansamos un poco, contemplamos el paisaje y seguimos nuestro recorrido.
Llegamos a Ciudad BolĂvar, fuimos a la estaciĂłn de gasolina a recargar combustible, como ya el sol habĂa calentado mucho, eran prácticamente las 12 del mediodĂa, decidimos entonces hacer un descanso en casa de mi hermana que vive en Puerto Ordaz, recargamos el combustible en la estaciĂłn de Ciudad BolĂvar y de allĂ le dimos directo hasta Puerto Ordaz, allĂ descansamos esa noche, aprovechamos y compartimos con mi hermana, mi cuñado y mis sobrinas y recobramos energĂa para continuar el camino al dĂa siguiente para llegar a nuestro destino que era MaturĂn estado Monagas .

Before reaching Guarataro, we stopped to take pictures of the “Caño Las Piedritas,” which is well known for its enormous slabs of rock and stones. The water really looked very inviting, but although we didn’t decide to go for a swim there, we rested for a bit, took in the scenery, and continued on our way.
We arrived in Ciudad BolĂvar and went to the gas station to fill up. Since the sun was already beating down—it was almost 12 noon—we decided to take a break at my sister’s house in Puerto Ordaz. We filled up at the gas station in Ciudad BolĂvar and drove straight from there to Puerto Ordaz, where we spent the night. We took the opportunity to spend time with my sister, my brother-in-law, and my nieces, and we recharged our energy to continue the journey the next day to reach our destination: MaturĂn, in Monagas state.
