The Noah legend behind the name Nohur is lovely, and the idea of a village speaking its own dialect that even other Turkmen speakers can't follow is wild. That old GAZ-69 still doing the rounds made me smile too. Did the locals tell you the Noah story themselves, or did you hear it before you arrived?

A guide like that makes all the difference, glad he knew the stories so well. Peace and calm sounds exactly right for a place like that. Did he have a favourite spot in the village he kept coming back to?
