🥇 Exploring the remote Lituya Bay, Alaska by hiking and kayaking. by @dtam

Lituya Bay is home to the highest tsunami run-up ever recorded. In 1958, a 7.8 earthquake struck the fairweather fault, just offshore. This triggered a massive landslide to collapse in Gilbert Inlet, at the back of Lituya Bay. The rock hit the water with such force that it generated a huge wave. Instead of traveling across the Pacific like a normal tsunami, it slammed into the nearby mountains, surrounding the bay. The wave surged up over 1,700ft, ripping away entire forest, and carrying a small boat up and over the trees before depositing it outside the bay in the ocean.

🥈 Our Last Stop Before the Day Ends. A Quiet Walk in a Beautiful Maltese Garden. by @katiekate86

Walking around the garden and the trees gave us shades under the sun was so peaceful and relaxing. What I liked was there were benches everywhere. For sure anyone will visit the place they could sit here for hours just enjoying the view.

🥉 Mexico - A Garden Of Wild Wonders by @relf87

Even the weather was hot, I still found it a meaningful visit, and it's refreshing to have these classes outdoors where we are able to see and learn things in such live environment. Perhaps it was because it was a summer exchange class. Perhaps it was a different education approach compared to my own country. And that's the beauty of such overseas exchanges, to open our eyes, to see new stuff, to embrace new ways of doing things.
