Hey, hey! This is @gabrielatravels, and I am excited to bring you a brand new edition of #TravelDigest! ❤️

Today's post is going to take you on a virtual tour with stops at a fishing village in France, a square in Venezuela, and a castle in Poland. We also have the honourable mentions, where you can get a few more travel postcards from Croatia, Russia, Venezuela, Spain, Switzerland, and Uruguay, so don't forget to check these posts too! 😊

All featured posts are visible on the Editors Choice Map and upvoted by @worldmappin, our curation trail, and potentially @blocktrades. For more travel digests check out #traveldigest.

🥇 THE COLORFUL CHAOS OF LA POINTE COURTE by @ladytruckview

As you already know from my previous posts, at first glance this fishing village seems to be completely dominated by chaos. Practically every piece of space is filled with something. Old objects, nets, ropes, buoys, boats, recycled items, and even decorations. Some of these things look as if they were put there for a moment several years ago and simply stayed there permanently. Sometimes it is actually difficult to tell what is a functional object, what is a decoration, and what has already become a kind of local art. And I think this chaos will be very clearly visible in my photos today.

🥈 Ogrodzieniec Castle and a Hike Around Dramatic Rock Formations by @greddyforce

The limestone cliffs at Ogrodzieniec Castle formed through ancient marine sedimentation, sponge-reef growth, and millions of years of chemical weathering. 150 million years ago, the whole of southern Poland was submerged under a warm, shallow shelf sea. Same as Estonia, where I live. About 65 million years ago, tectonic plate activity pushed the land upwards and left the seafloor exposed. In simple terms, the erosion after that washed away sediment and left the tougher parts of the rock standing there.

🥉 Discovering Luis Homes Square in San Francisco. | Descubriendo la plaza Luis Homez en San Francisco. by @noelyss

In the centre of the square stands a large, full-length monument to Luis Homez, situated right in the centre of the square’s commercial area. It is made entirely of bronze and is in an excellent state of repair, featuring a plaque that briefly recounts his life. We can see him in a three-quarter profile, smiling, and holding books in his left arm, as he was a highly educated man.
