In the 19th and early 20th centuries, rich European aristocrats, artists and patients who sought a cure for tuberculosis in the mild climate came en masse to Menton.
Many of them remained there, so today the cemetery is divided into sectors - Catholic, Protestant and Russian Orthodox.

In most ancient Roman cities, there is a Roman bath. The bath here is one of the largest and most extensive structures in the city. Located slightly below the city entrance on the left, the baths are divided into three sections: a hot section, a cold section, and a lukewarm section. The section closest to the bath entrance is the cold section.

🥉 In search of ancient Mughal architecture: Gurdaspur's historic 'Gayibi' large-scale Shahi Jame Masjid by @mshbd

It is said that when Shah Shuja, the son of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, was the governor of Bengal, there was a large base of Mughal soldiers in this Chapila village. This mosque was probably built with lime and lead for the soldiers to worship. But once upon a time, a terrible cholera outbreak occurred in the area. To save their lives, the local residents, including the Mughal soldiers, left the area. Then gradually the entire area turned into a dangerous deep forest, which became the den of tigers and poisonous snakes.
