Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand #1

Hello traveler in the whole world...mappin...

Welcome to Bangkok.... was the first sentence I said to myself when the plane landed at Don Mueng Airport. This was my first time in Bangkok. It felt so good to add this country to the list of countries I had visited. I was curious about Bangkok that makes people in my country so happy to return. Including Aswita who loves returning to Bangkok. So I consciously decided on this short vacation last January.

Why I call it short, because I was only in Bangkok for two days. I didn't have a long holiday so I couldn't stay in Bangkok for long. Besides, I considered this first visit as a test drive, so if this city is comfortable, then I will come back again...

So this was my first day in Bangkok after a 3-hour flight from Medan—my hometown. Oddly enough, I was sitting alone on the plane. My seat was in the middle. I'd mentally prepared myself to sit between two strangers, but I found myself sitting alone. It was a bit sad—a little, but I didn't dare move. I just enjoyed it, sitting in the middle between two empty seats, putting my things on the empty seat, and feeling at ease.

I arrived at Don Mueng at 11 a.m. After a long period of confusion, I arrived in Bangkok at 1 p.m. While searching for my booked hotel, I also got lost, so it took a while to arrive and stretch my legs on the bed. I stayed at the Livotel Hotel, a comfortable place a bit far from the city center.

Museum For Sustinable Buddhism

At the comfortable hotel, I rested for a while and then began my journey to nearby attractions—those that probably weren't closed. But I forgot that it was Monday, and many places would be closed for maintenance. So, when I arrived at the Buddhist museum, the staff told me it was closed on Mondays. So, I missed my first tour. The outdoor area was entertaining, though.

Luckily, the exterior of the museum was quite unique, so I was able to explore it for a while. The front area was pretty self-explanatory, but I was thinking about going somewhere else, perhaps somewhere that wasn't closed yet. Apparently, no museums or temples were open that day. Furthermore, it was already 5 p.m. So, I decided to stop by the park instead.

Bangkok's streets were starting to get crowded that afternoon, so I decided to take the MRT. The closest one was Lat Phrao, on the yellow line. I had no idea where I was going, so I just relied on the map and looked for a park that might be close to an MRT station.

My itinerary didn't work out that day, but I was still happy to stop by Bangkok, with its bustling streets not unlike Jakarta. Yes, Bangkok isn't bad; I liked it and would go back again.

Vivie Hardika

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.

12 published novels!? Wow great.

Sustainable Buddhism

Very strange looking term for a religion to have. How does unsustainable Buddhism look like?

I don't know what's on that building because that time the place was close.

Ehhh, 2 days is already plenty enough to enjoy some spots in Bangkok. But its sad that the museum was close. But why Monday is their maintenance day? I thought that kind of thing happened on weekend? Or maybe not? I wish I could visit Bangkok too one day. I am not sure Though if I can do this alone. 😭🌟

Not really because I seems like in rush in a place.

Yeah, I forgot that every monday, all place would be close.

I hope you will go there someday..
