We Picnic in the GBK City Forest

Having lived in the GBK area for so long, I rarely stopped by the GBK City Forest. The reason is quite cliché: it's quite hot during the day and too crowded in the afternoon. I've been reluctant to go there. Once, my friend and I stopped by in the morning, after a 5K-10K run, enjoying a relaxing day after a long run. That's the main reason why we finally returned today. Yes, this was our first time picnicking in the GBK City Forest.

You know GBK, right? That's the abbreviation for Gelora Bung Karno, a sports stadium complex in Jakarta. Besides sporting events, GBK is also often used for entertainment events, and usually, people avoid those events, which tend to be packed.

Okay, that brief overview of GBK is over, let's get back to our picnic in the City Forest.

The City Forest was specifically designed for picnics for residents of Jakarta and the surrounding areas. That day, a weekday, I arrived early. As I mentioned earlier, the City Forest is hot during the day. But I didn't care; the heat made for a good video. Yes, we were picnicking to make a video, too.

As its name suggests, this small forest, which should be called a park, is located next to Senayan's main street, where many elite office buildings are located. From here, you can clearly see the beautiful skyscrapers. When night falls, the buildings make the city lights even more beautiful. Unfortunately, this City Forest is only open until 6 p.m. to avoid rude people.

It's a pond filled with gold fish is one of the most popular places. Many people will sit on the edge, watching the golden fish inside appear.

Well, despite its small size, this urban forest can accommodate dozens of people. It offers amenities such as clean restrooms and a prayer room. Of course, janitors regularly clean the urban forest to ensure everyone's comfort. Yes, I regret to say that most people in my country litter, even though trash cans are everywhere.

So, this City Forest has achieved its purpose: to provide green space for GBK visitors. Imagine, in this vast space, there's no one smoking. It's clearly prohibited. These days, finding a park without smokers is incredibly difficult. That's why I'm confident I can enjoy a comfortable picnic while creating educational content in this park.

This park is so green and clean. Come on a sunny day, and don't come after it rains. You can lie down on the grass, as it won't get your clothes dirty at all.

and... this is what we were bring and bought. We chatting while looking at the buildings behind us. Even though the sky is not blue, it still fine and cozy with wind.
