Diversión en el columpio de mariposa: Donde convergen el encanto de volar y el esparcimiento
Continuando mi recorrido por la franja costera de Cumaná, hoy les comparto mi visita a un hermoso lugar junto al Anfiteatro Hernán Marín. Ofrece impresionantes vistas de la playa, senderos para caminar, decoraciones con macetas de barro artesanales en forma de canastas, senderos de césped y pequeños jardines a su alrededor. También hay un hermoso columpio con forma de mariposa, y su posición relativamente elevada sobre un muro de concreto brinda vistas increíbles de la avenida.
Junto se encuentra un edificio triangular donde se ubican los baños, los contenedores de basura y otros servicios. También hay personal de seguridad para proteger estos espacios. La rehabilitación y la incorporación de nuevas características a esta zona de la ciudad han creado un espacio agradable para que personas de todas las edades disfruten de actividades en un entorno natural con espectaculares vistas al mar. Desde este punto estratégico, ubicado en un muro relativamente alto, se pueden apreciar los complejos residenciales a lo largo de la Avenida Cacique Maragüey, que destacan por sus vibrantes colores, así como la playa y, al final, el monumento "Monje e Indio". Este monumento fue inaugurado hace varios años para celebrar el aniversario de la ciudad y representar parte de la historia de la primera ciudad fundada en el continente americano, evangelizada por misioneros capuchinos que sentaron las bases de su establecimiento.
El monumento se alza sobre una estructura de hormigón que alberga una oficina de la Guardia Costera. Los edificios circundantes, además de complejos residenciales, incluyen hoteles, restaurantes y establecimientos comerciales. Continuing my tour along the coastal strip in Cumaná, today I'm sharing my visit to a beautiful spot next to the Hernán Marín Amphitheater. It offers stunning views of the beach, walking paths, decorations with handcrafted clay planters shaped like baskets, grassy walkways, and small gardens surrounding them. There's also a beautiful butterfly-shaped swing, and its relatively high position on a concrete wall provides incredible views of the avenue.
Next to it is a triangular-shaped building where you'll find restrooms, waste bins, and other amenities. Security officers are also present to safeguard these spaces. The rehabilitation and addition of new features to this area of the city have provided a pleasant space for people of all ages to enjoy activities in a natural setting with spectacular ocean views. From this vantage point, located on a relatively high wall, you can see the residential complexes along Cacique Maraguey Avenue, notable for their vibrant colors, as well as the beach and, at the end, the "Monk and Indian" monument. This monument was inaugurated several years ago to celebrate the city's anniversary and to represent part of the history of the first city founded on the American continent, evangelized by Capuchin missionaries to lay the foundations for its establishment.
The monument sits atop a concrete structure that houses an office for the Coast Guard. The surrounding buildings, in addition to residential complexes, also include hotels, restaurants, and commercial establishments. The area is dynamic due to its location and the various recreational spaces it offers.

Continuing along this beautiful route, I observed the beach with its gentle waves. I had another view of the recreational areas, their walkways, and gardens. Approaching the shore, I saw the beach again and a boat gliding across these blue waters. Then, a rocky path led to the back of the Marina Plaza amphitheater.
Here, I also paused to admire the beautiful landscape and the vastness of the Caribbean Sea that washes the Venezuelan coast. In the eastern region, particularly in the state of Sucre, the country's geographical location gives it a large island area and beautiful beaches spread across several municipalities.

Then I went to the famous butterfly swing. As you can see in the photograph, it's located on a concrete base, and in front of it are several benches forming a small amphitheater from which you can watch the sporting activities taking place on the beach soccer field, paddle tennis court, and other courts. The structure is made of iron, and at night the butterfly turns on its colorful lights, creating a beautiful spectacle.
From a front view, we see the butterfly's wings, antennae, and the swing in the background. The swing is also made of iron, and the bench is wooden. From a closer view, we can appreciate the butterfly's face and the details of its wings. Without a doubt, the artist did a great job here, shaping the butterfly's wings and placing rebar horizontally and vertically, creating a beautiful design. The benches are made of concrete and can accommodate 5 or 6 people. Finally, we have a complete view of the butterfly: its antennae, its internal body, and how it's attached to this structure. It has chains on both wings that pass through it and end up connecting it to this iron structure. Due to time constraints, I couldn't return at night to see its beautiful colors. One of the staff members showed me a photo, and I must say the view is very beautiful. After my tour of this beautiful area and swinging on the swing, I headed towards another part of the beach.
