Hoy les comparto mi visita a la rotonda José Martí. Ubicada en la Avenida Gran Mariscal, muy cerca del banco Fondo Común, esta rotonda es relativamente nueva. Anteriormente conocida como la rotonda Fondo Común, ahora cuenta con una escultura de José Martí, líder cubano. Su diseño minimalista y atractivo facilita el acceso. Hay cuatro pasarelas, cada una con el nombre de la plaza. Más allá de estas, se encuentran bancos en forma de media luna, y junto a ellos, jardineras triangulares redondeadas separadas por un muro azul. El piso de granito está decorado con estrellas.
Debajo de los bancos, luces LED añaden hermosos destellos a la plaza por la noche. En el centro se encuentran el pedestal, la escultura y cuatro banderas: la de Venezuela, la de Cuba, la del estado de Sucre y la del municipio de Sucre. El pedestal es muy diferente a los que solemos ver en las plazas, ya que está formado por dos columnas abiertas en el centro, y debajo se encuentra la inscripción de la placa. Desde este punto, se puede ver parte de la Avenida Gran Mariscal hacia el sector Caigüire, la oficina del Banco Fondo Común, y en la placa se lee lo siguiente: "José Martí, héroe nacional de Cuba, bolivariano de corazón, al llegar a Venezuela, sin sacudirse el polvo del camino, preguntó dónde se encontraba la estatua del Libertador". También fue poeta, pensador y visionario de América.

Today I'm sharing my visit to the José Martí roundabout. Located on Gran Mariscal Avenue, very close to the Fondo Común bank, this roundabout is relatively new. Previously known as the Fondo Común roundabout, it now features a sculpture of José Martí, a Cuban leader. Its minimalist and attractive design is easy to access. There are four walkways, each displaying the name of the plaza. Beyond these are crescent-shaped benches, and next to them are rounded, triangular planters separated by a blue wall. The granite floor is decorated with various stars.
Beneath the benches are LED lights that add beautiful sparkles to this plaza at night. In the center are the pedestal, the sculpture, and four flags: the Venezuelan flag, the Cuban flag, the flag of the state of Sucre, and the flag of the Sucre municipality. The pedestal is very different from what we see in plazas, as it is formed by two columns, open in the center, and below it is the inscription of the plaque. From this point, one can see part of Gran Mariscal Avenue towards the Caigüire sector, the Banco Fondo Común office, and we read the following on the plaque: "José Martí, national hero of Cuba, Bolivarian at heart, upon arriving in Venezuela, without shaking off the dust of the road, asked where the statue of the Liberator lived." He was also a poet, thinker, and visionary of America.
Siguiendo el recorrido, se aprecia la escultura, el pedestal formado por tres columnas, una plaza detrás donde se alza la estatua y una vista de los jardines. Estos están repletos de plantas ornamentales, entre las que destacan las de hojas moradas. Otra vista muestra parte de los jardines, el edificio del banco y la colección de plantas que adornan esta rotonda. A continuación, se ven más de cerca las banderas, la avenida que conduce a la zona, el monumento y los muros de la estructura donde se encuentra la escultura, que son grises en los laterales y blancos en la parte frontal y posterior.

Continuing along the route, we have a view of the sculpture, the pedestal formed by three columns, a square at the back where the statue stands, and a view of the gardens. The gardens are filled with ornamental plants, the most striking of which are those with purple leaves. Another view shows part of the gardens, the bank building, and the collection of plants that decorate this roundabout. Then we see the flags closer, the avenue leading to the area, the monument, and the walls of the structure where the sculpture rests, which are gray on the sides and white on the front and back.
This in turn has a square base; then, through the other entrance, we have the identification of the Sucre State Government and a full view of the headquarters of the Banco Fondo Común, a bank and its respective LED light at the bottom, a view of the bakery and the roundabout towards Gran Mariscal Avenue, followed by a full view of the roundabout, the palm trees, and the posts located on the edges. This plaza receives regular maintenance from the Sucre Te Quiero Foundation group. It has four entrances, and each one is identified with the Sucre State Government, the Sucre Te Quiero Foundation, and the name of the roundabout, José Martí.

El día de mi visita, estaban realizando trabajos de mantenimiento en el jardín: riego y limpieza.
Según los encargados del mantenimiento, la plaza se inauguró este año, aunque su espacio pertenecía anteriormente a otra rotonda. Ahora se llama Rotonda José Martí. In the next entry, we see the phrase "Sucre, I love you" in a blue square, similar to the one we saw previously. We have a side view of the hospital, the gardens, the sculpture in the center, and the concrete benches. On the day of my visit, they were doing maintenance work on the garden: watering and cleaning.
According to the people in charge of maintenance, the plaza was inaugurated this year, although its space previously belonged to another roundabout. It now bears the name of the José Martí Roundabout. In another view, we see the phrase "Sucre, I love you" and the paving that makes up this plaza. Then, a side view of the sculpture, the benches, and the flags. Finally, a view of the back gardens, the benches, and another of the stars that adorn the paving. There are several stars located along the walkways, and they are white. I have passed by this avenue several times, but this is the first time I have stopped to explore this plaza, get to know it, and observe its curious benches.
