Interliber Zagreb Croatia - a place for every book lover

It was that time of the year, November, one of our favorite months. That meant a small one-day trip for my wife and me to one of the biggest book fairs in the region of EX Yugoslavia. We are both avid book lovers and now have a small home library with around 350 titles.

This was our third and bestest (best) visit yet. We went for the first time in '23 while we were still dating. I cannot describe or tell you the joy my now-wife was feeling when I told her that I was bringing her to the book fair. She hyperventilated for a couple of minutes, and I couldn't figure out if she was crying, laughing, or screeching. Her legs trembled like never before (she has cerebral palsy and occasional tremors when really excited). During our first year of visiting, we purchased the largest number of books. This year my wife and I set ourselves a goal of having a limited budget of 77€ each. Being a great researcher, my wife found her favorite titles for this year long before we went on our trip. Her focus were books we didn't get in the last 2 years that are on a discount.

We got our trusty wheels on the road and arrived in about 2 hours in Zagreb.

The biggest challenge after arriving was finding the right parking spot. With such a massive event and thousands of people visiting, it was almost impossible to find a wheelchair accessible parking spot or any parking at all.

This year, exhibitors from 14 countries had thousands of books displayed in 3 pavilions. Dominating on this years Interliber were English and second-hand books. There is something special in old books. Thousands of titles that were once best-selling books, world classics and books from publishers that no longer exist for the friction of the cost.
